24.01.2022 Brighton Health Clinic for Kids would like to thank all the GPs and nurses who attended our first educational seminar on Wednesday 14th August 2019. It was a successful night earning CPD points whereby Dr James Mulvany, a General Paediatrician presented on the management of ADHD and Paediatric Occupational Therapist Ms Lisa Scott presented on sensory processing difficulties in children. 23.01.2022 Brighton Health Clinic for Kids is pleased to announce that Dr Melinda Glover has joined our clinic and is consulting 3 days a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Dr Melinda (MBBS, MPH & DTMH, FRACP) is a committed and passionate doctor who thrives on the challenges that general paediatrics creates. She has experience in the management of children of all ages from neonates to adolescents. As well as her experience in general paediatrics, Melinda has a passion and dedicatio...n for both paediatric neurological disorders and paediatric infectious diseases. She completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Neurology at the Sydney Childrens Hospital and has experiencing in managing neurological disorders such as seizures, weakness and headaches. She has completed a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene with the London School of Tropical Medicine which saw her study infectious diseases and public health throughout East Africa. The gov...ernment recommendations and new restrictions still allow for you to leave your home to attend medical and/or health appointments, this includes Specialists, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, etc. outside your 5km radius. The health and safety of our patients is our top priority so please rest assured that we have implemented stringent measures in our practice to ensure that we are able to keep our doors open to our patients. If you cant come to us, we can come to you through Telehealth, via video conferencing or phone call. We understand that attending face-to-face is not viable for all patients and this will allow us to continue providing care for your child. 20.01.2022 Happy 1st Year Anniversary Brighton Health Clinic for Kids! Today 15th April 2020 marks the date a year on since we opened our doors! What a journey its been! We express our deepest gratitude to our patients and families for trusting and choosing our clinic, our doctors and our allied health clinicians. We in turn thank all our staff for their committment, knowledge and professionalism that makes our multidisciplinary model of care unique in its setting. ... To our referring GPs we appreciate and value all your support for our services and we look forward to a continued partnership in managing our paediatric patients together. We remain passionate about medical education and we will continue our seminars as webinars for the immediate future. We thank our very capable administration team for all their skills and contribution to the daily smooth running of the clinic. Chris and I started to build this clinic with a dream in mind, to create a welcoming space of clinical excellence in infant, child and adolescent medicine. We share with you some behind the scenes photos of our journey, from construction site beginnings, with Chris working tirelessly and patiently as an engineer (or a timely swiss clock as I sayalthough actually I think the precision comes from pilot training!) to our clinic now being an incredible and talented team of paediatricians, endocrinology specialist, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitian, continence physiotherapist, podiatrist and exercise physiologist working together. 10.01.2022 At BHC for Kids we would like to welcome Kate Woods (Katy Vaarzon-Morel), Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist who will be practising weekly from our clinic. Kate, together with her assistant Diana OKeeffe (Allied Health Assistant/ OT Support) specialises in the area of sensory regulation and the flow on affect to development of positive behavioural habits. Her area of speciality is taking a holistic approach as she considers the child and how to work to help them embrace their level of comfort. She looks at the mini steps around sensory and emotional regulation, motor planning, executive functioning and social skills amongst other aspects to help children be the best they can be by creating a positive approach.

Dr Katherine Parkhurst has joined our clinic and is consulting 3 days a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Dr Katherine (MBBS, FRACP) is a passionate paediatrician specialising in the care of children, from birth to adolescence. Katherine has clinical interests in allergy, asthma, continence and development. She is also experienced in sleep, feeding, growth issues and follow up of ex-p...remature infants. Katherine is committed to proving excellent clinical care for her patients and families. Dr Katherine completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Monash University with honours in 2009. She completed most of her Paediatric training at the Royal Childrens Hospital Melbourne with further experience at The Royal Womens Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Katherine is currently completing further studies in Medical Clinical Leadership.
