11.01.2022 F I R S T H O M E B U Y E R S On 1 August 2020, higher thresholds for stamp duty exemptions/concessions on new homes and vacant land came into effect. If you qualify as a first home buyer, you may now be able to spend up to $800,000 on a new home or $400,000 on vacant land and pay no stamp duty. ... Concessions on stamp duty are also available for purchases above those thresholds.



03.01.2022 A deadline of 31 December 2020 is approaching to amend your discretionary (family) trust deeds. If your trust deed does not specifically exclude foreign resident beneficiaries and owns (or will own) real property in NSW, the trust will be liable for surcharge duty and potentially other taxes from next year. The changes will also impact Wills executed after 1 January 2021 which create discretionary testamentary trusts.... 01.01.2022 HOME BUILDER GRANT EXTENDED UNTIL 31 MARCH 2021 The Government has today announced an extension of its Home Builder program until 31 March 2021 together with further changes including an extension of time for applications until 14 April 2021 - this includes existing eligible contracts signed after 4 June 2020. The new grant from 1 January 2021 will be $15,000 for building contracts (new builds and substantial renovations) signed between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021, inclusive.
