24.01.2022 Dust off your barcodes, it's full steam ahead for parkrun at Bibra Lake this Saturday 24th. It's been a hectic week trying to get everything organised to start again this week but we are so excited to be coming back! We could do with some marshals and another barcode scanner so if you'd like to help please message!... Things will be a little different but a lot the same. Please have a look at the below Codes of Contact and do your best to conform with them. Hands up who's excited?

24.01.2022 We need your help There’s an issue with this Picture These guys are missing their mate Number 52 from last weekend.... Just a friendly reminder that the finishing tokens are not souvenirs After your run, scanning in with the volunteers then place your finishing token in the Used Finish Tokens tub

23.01.2022 AMNESTY ON FINISH TOKENS!!! parkrunners we've had lots of tokens go missing in the last few weeks... if you've got any at home please please please can you return them asap. It's a lot of work for the Event Team to replace them temporarily and it costs parkrun a lot to replace them permanently. You won't get told off, you'll even get a free run

20.01.2022 We are so excited to be parkrunning again tomorrow. A few reminders/changes to be aware of: - stay home if you're not well - we can't transport your keys/jumpers/water bottles etc from the start to the finish so look after your own gear!... - we will be spreading out the start line to allow for social distancing... self seed and if you're a slower participant or have children/ a dog then stay towards the back - you might even get bonus metres! - STAY LEFT - this is so so so so important. Bibra Lake users have had the place to themselves for the last 7 months so they might get a bit of a shock tomorrow to see us all back. We don't have exclusive use of the path so single file, get out of the way, and BE KIND!!! City of Cockburn have stressed the importance of this. - no high fives or spitting - to get your token scanned, hold it up along with your barcode then put it in the marked bucket. THEY ARE NOT SOUVENIRS. We will then clean and sort before next week's event. 7.50am for first timers briefing, very very short event brief just before the 8am start. See you there! https://volunteer.parkrun.com//open-with-covid-19-manageme https://volunteer.parkrun.com/principles/codes-of-conduct

19.01.2022 "I know that parkrun, just as it has helped me through many difficult times, will rise to the challenge presented by the Coronavirus and be there for all of u...s." A note to all parkrunners, from Paul Sinton-Hewitt http://parkrun.me/brvi2 #loveparkrun

19.01.2022 parkrun's research suggests that women are less likely to participate at parkrun. This weekend at Bibra Lake we are encouraging you to help change this! All of our volunteer roles will be filled by some of our amazing females and let's see if the girls can out-number the boys in participation too! Is there a female in your world who you could invite along to their first parkrun?

18.01.2022 City of Cockburn have asked us to let you know that a prescribed burn is planned for 9am tomorrow in Bibra Lake. It's not on our course but you might see them setting up or perhaps some smoke if you're in the area later on. With the weather forecast it might not even happen, but here's the map so you all know where to avoid! (Bibra Drive and Parkway).

17.01.2022 We promise once all this is over, however long it takes, we will be back. We will walk, jog, run & volunteer together again Thanks in no small part to the ong...oing financial support of our partners, we will return Please share to show your appreciation Medibank Blackmores The Athlete's Foot Eukanuba Australia Sport Australia #loveparkrun

16.01.2022 Back to normal parkrun this week! The only change will be the need to check in on SafeWA. We will not be using a hard paper registry. See you all on Saturday!

05.01.2022 We are hoping to be able to start parkrun again on 24th October! Time to get excited! A few things to let you know about: **First Timers briefing will happen at 7.50am before the main briefing**... **The main briefing will be kept to 2 minutes** ** We can't transport personal possessions (keys, jumpers etc) from the start to the finish** **We will ask you to hold your barcode and finish token whilst they are scanned and then drop the token into a container to be cleaned** The volunteer roster is now open, the event team have filled most of the first week back but there are heaps of opportunities for everyone over the following weeks. https://www.parkrun.com.au/bibralake/futureroster/ We will be needing more barcode scanners to quicken the process but no token sorter at the moment as the tokens need to be disinfected before sorting. Can't wait to see you all again and have Saturday mornings back to normal!

03.01.2022 The latest update...

03.01.2022 Arent they AMAZING #parkrun #IWD2020

02.01.2022 STAY LEFT REMINDER -we were made aware this morning that several runners are not adhering to the "stay left" protocols., causing blockages, and annoyance to other park runners and also to people coming the other way. Please remember that we share the path with other users, and we need to treat running as we would if we were driving:- - Stay left, - look before overtaking, and only do so if it is clear. - after overtaking, return to the left lane (look before pulling back ...in) - stay alert. Please stay aware of your surroundings and other users (particularly if you are wearing headphones or chatting to friends). I was made aware this morning, that despite several people yelling "stay left" or "bike coming", several participants were oblivious to the verbal alerts. This is for both safety reasons and also to ensure that parkrun don't risk losing the privilege of using this beautiful park by causing complaints to the council. Many Thanks everyone :-)
