23.01.2022 Another year, another Dev Camp! Open to all members aged 16 to 21

22.01.2022 DEVIL OF A SWIM TO BE RESCHEDULED. Due to the rapidly developing situation with COVID-19, we have made the tough decision to postpone the Devil of a Swim until... further notice. We intend to reschedule the Devil of a Swim for some stage this year, but the situation is constantly changing, and we will be monitoring this closely and communicating with all swimmers and volunteers involved. Why? In light of preventative measures currently being recommended by health authorities such as social distancing, advice from SLST, and due to increasing cases in Tasmania, we have made this decision in the interest of the health and wellbeing of everyone involved. The health and well-being of everyone involved and their extended families is an absolute priority, and as such, bringing together people for this event would not be appropriate at this time. We have made the decision today, as we want to give swimmers as much notice as possible to make alternative arrangements regarding travel and accommodation. We encourage swimmers who have already registered to retain their registration as existing registrations will be honoured at the rescheduled event. For currently registered swimmers who are unable to attend the rescheduled event, refunds will be available. Please email [email protected] to request a refund. 14.01.2022 A rescue of a different kind happened on our beach today. Well done to everyone involved, the rescue was a success with only minor damage to the vessel. On another note, it was fantastic to see Clifton Beach SLSC putting there skills to the test and having fun in Bicheno.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to Penguin Surf Club!

09.01.2022 Great initiative by the St Helens Volunteer Marine Rescue.

07.01.2022 Surf Life Saving is somewhere that LGBTIQ people can feel welcome, safe and valued. Lifesavers with Pride helps to support clubs to become more inclusive and welcoming to their LGBTIQ members. As we approach our upcoming season this scholarship helps members of the LGBTIQ community join their local surf club by removing the financial barrier to becoming a lifesaver. Please share with those who you think might benefit from this.

07.01.2022 Nice work Port Sorell!

04.01.2022 The Kenny’s were known for making Aussies history. In 1966 when Ironman racing was introduced at the Aussies, Hayden Kenny took out the first ever title.14 year...s later his son Grant Kenny produced one of the most historic Aussies moments when he claimed the Junior & Open Ironman crowns at the 1980 Aussies. 40 years on, no one has ever achieved the same feat. Kenny famously won the Aussies Open Ironman crown only to back up moments later and claim gold in the Junior Ironman check out the highlights! #staysafe #stayhome #stayconnected

03.01.2022 Our incredibly talented Saskia Sparshott captured this image at Waubs Bay showcasing some spectacular bioluminescence. Each 'like' on the original Beaker Street post counts as a vote for Saskia in the running for The Beaker Street Science Photography Prize so make sure to check it out!

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, Are you, or do you know someone super organised and looking to get involved in their local community? We have the role of secretary vacant on our committee for the coming year and would really like to fill the role with a local East Coast volunteer.... If you're interested or know someone who is - please contact the club for more info. Big thanks to Miranda Ackers for undertaking this role over the past twelve months.
