Max is using his very cool & custom Trek Roscoe that we helped put together for him to help raise money for the Starlight Childrens Foundation enabling them to help other kids in need. Max is riding his bike through the month of September to raise funds for the Starlight Childrens Foundation as part of the Tour De Kids 30 day cycling challenge. Starlight is a foundation that has helped Max and his family a lot over t...ime. Max has taken it upon himself to now help raise funds so Starlight can help brighten the lives of other sick kids in need. Here at Bicycle Express we are getting behind Max and have made a donation of $1000 to help Max on his fundraising mission. Trek Australia have also jumped on board and are kicking in $1500 to this wonderful cause. We simply love seeing Max out riding his bike and enjoying it. Hes raced his way around the world on his bike and won a lot of races along the way. - When Cam is racing, the Trek Supercaliber is his weapon of choice. The Supercaliber combines all the benefits of a dual suspension bike and a hardtail together to make one crazy fast bike. -... 02.01.2022 A good news story... - Meet Max @max_croser . Max has wanted to ride MTBs properly for a long while. Hes had an older and very basic MTB before that only had foot or "pedal back" brakes. - Max has very little left of his hands and fingers from some very severe burns and cannot reach normal brake levers. Enter the brains trust of Grant & Lachie and a "Can do" attitude.... - Max has just taken delivery of this very cool and very custom Trek Roscoe which has been set up to use a Bontrager dropper post lever to activate the brakes. Both brakes are operated at the same time by the same hand on the left (Maxs better hand) using a brake cable 2 into 1 splitter system. Max uses the stronger part of what remains of his thumb to then be able to apply pressure to the dropper post lever to stop. - Some creative positioning of the shift lever for gear shifting and some special and very thin grippy bar tape to allow Max to hang onto the bars. Maxs bike like all adapted and modified things will be a work in progress but we are so happy to help and see him out and about riding a bike. - We love to be able to help out anyone that wants to ride.
