25.01.2022 VDHS - Round 3: Mt. Buller (Practice) Rider: Chris O'Brien

24.01.2022 We're back! The 2017-2018 Victorian Downhill season has started with Mt Major hosting the first round. Near perfect weather conditions made for perfect weekend away racing. Few of our boys not so perfect though, Alex Wearne had not thrown a leg over a bike for over 10 months, had a big off in Saturdays practice but put in and finished 24th in the Expert class. Tom France looked elegant on course aboard his Santa Cruz, pushed a little hard and crashed in his race run, slid int...o a 25th position in the Expert class. Steve Johnson left the big girls for the bmx bandits but returned and looked fast on track, bmx styled his way to a 7th position in the Expert class. Dale Standerwick completed his first ever Downhill race very well and finished in 3rd place in the Sports class. Chris O'Brien, after spending 2 seasons out with injury, returned directly into the Elite class and finished 20th. Steven Guiney and Mike on the Canadian Clubs, on the wrong side of the tape but added to the atmosphere. We should see them on track at the next round. Harry Hartwig on the photos on Sunday and as usual killed it! It was great to see the boys put on the pink gloves as a tribute to the passing of the team's most favorite member Cathy Johnson earlier this year, we miss you greatly! 19.01.2022 VDHS - Round 3: Mount Buller Apologies for delay with the team re-cap for Round 3.. The weekend brought fantastic weather to the mountain, with tacky conditions after a couple of days rain. Alongside all the work put into the track prior to racing by the Bike Buller team.... Saturday's practice was an unfortunate turn of events for the team, with elite rider Chris O'Brien crashing & breaking numerous bones in his wrist. We wish Chris a speedy recovery & look forward to his results for the 2016/17 season. Sunday's race day came around with again mixed results for the team. 17.01.2022 VDHS - MOUNT BEAUTY (Round 1) After a dusty & scorching 30 degree day of practice on Saturday at Mt. Beauty, race day saw the clouds roll in the rain start flowing. 17.01.2022 People, we are offering someone who is keen to ride/race dh a chance to ride a Zerode g1 for the team at the next vdhs even at Malden on the first weekend of March. Bike is for sale though so if you are keen to try it out let me know asap and the bike will be reserved for you for the weekend! Plenty of classes for beginners! First in best dressed!

10.01.2022 Round 2 of the Victorian Downhill Series done and dusted. Narbethong had the lot! Sun, thunderstorms and then more sun. The team was down a few riders for the race, Alex Wearne and Chris O'Brien the only two racing. Tom France being sidelined with a damaged bike but watched on from the side of the track.
