25.01.2022 Help all kids get back to swimming sooner. Swimming lessons provide so many benefits to children. Not only helps with survival skills, it creates stamina, better language development, motor visual skills, gross motor skills, social skills and better problem solving. Scientific papers have shown that Covid-19 becomes inactive in chlorine, ozone and/or UVC. Proper control of humidity and temperature also play a role in its deactivation.... Lessons should be included as education and not as a leisure activity. Please sign and share this petition. Industry groups are still trying to negotiate with the Victorian Government to change this. 25.01.2022 As the weather warms up, remember that portable pools and spas may require fencing. Please remember to watch around water.

24.01.2022 Again, we shall be closing due to Covid-19 restrictions until August 20th, 2020. Credits will be applied to all that have paid for Term 3. We shall call everyone the week before to confirm their places again, unless the restart date changes. Stay safe.

24.01.2022 We wish all of our Big Fish Fish Little Fish Swim School families a Happy Easter. Enjoy spending this precious time with those close to you in these strange times. Looking forward to seeing you all on the flipside.... Stay home and stay safe.

21.01.2022 Appallingly, Casey Council have decided they may close Doveton Pool permanently and will vote on it on Tuesday's Council meeting. Please share and object to this if you are a Casey resident. This is an important part of our community and is used by many schools with their school competitions.

20.01.2022 Hi all, We now have an option to open up for swimming lessons next week. There are a lot of conditions which will apply, so we need to ascertain when you want to come back with the conditions as it stands. 1. Maximum of 20 people in the pool and reception area at one time. 2. No parents to watch unless the children are under 6, where you will watch from the foyer of the gym.... 3. Students to wait outside until their class is about to start. CCO will collect children and walk them to their class. 4. Upon finishing class, the CCO will also collect children and escort them to the door, for parents to pick up. 5. Change rooms and showers will be closed and off limits. There will be access to toilets only for toileting. gown6. Swimmers are to arrive with swimwear on (under clothes/dressing gown) and leave without getting changed. They can put on a towel or dressing gown. This includes parents in parents and child classes. 7. There will not be a guarantee of having their usual teacher, as we may not have full staffing available. 8. 3 people are allowed per lane, or a normal class when lane rope is removed, as it is then a teaching space. 9. No free swim. 10. No discounts will apply in Term 3 11. We will try to keep siblings at the same time to allow for easier lessons. We shall be emailing and SMSing everyone today as well. Could you please let us know ASAP your intentions so we can ascertain whether or not we shall start back on Monday 8th June - Sunday 28th June, or return Term 3, Monday 13th July. All students paid for and enrolled in Term 1, will have a credit of one lesson for the last week missed. All make ups from previous weeks will be upheld, but will not be available until Term 3, or when we have more capacity. These are all subject to changes made by various governments. We shall let you all know by the end of the week which option we shall go with. Thanks in advance, and stay safe.

20.01.2022 Next term newsletter is out this week. Here is a copy as well. If you wish to receive via email as well and you haven't received it yet, please message your email address and swimmers name either via SMS or DM. Info on government grants on here as well.

20.01.2022 One of the peak governing bodies who are advocating for swimming lessons to become available. This is their preparation statement to the government wanting clarification on points for reopening. The main concern is the loss of skills for swimmers and the potential increase of drowning over the next few years. In some states of America, drownings have increased by 100% in March 2020 to March 2019.... While this is at the end of their summer, the stats are shocking. Cant wait to get back.

19.01.2022 This is the link which shows the Victorian regulations that we need to abide by for going back to sport and exercise.

19.01.2022 Free swim is available from tomorrow. This will only be available when our entrance is open, not through the gym entrance. Free swim is available from tomorrow. This will only be available when our entrance is open, not through the gym entrance.

16.01.2022 Day 6 of safety tips from a drowning investigator

15.01.2022 Hi all. In light of the corona virus pandemic and after speaking to people i know who own other swim schools in Australia and Overseas. The Victorian Premier has just announced in the next 2 days closure of non essential services. It is with a heavy heart Big Fish Little Fish Swim School and Freeway Comets SWIM Club has decided to cease Term 1 classes effective immediately. The safety of our families is our priority and minimising contact seems to be the best way forward. Ma...ny families have family members at risk, and they are isolating at home, we have sick kids and this left approximately 50% of our program attending, and more are choosing not to come. We have 1 week remaining, then a 2 week break. Hopefully over that time the risk will reduce and we can resume again. The remaining lessons for term 1 will be credited for future use. Term 2 will not be invoiced until further notice, I will wait until we can resume again. Everyone will remain enrolled into Term 2 and will be emailed prior to starting classes again. Please keep an eye on your emails and social media for updates. If you have not received any emails from us, please PM or email your details to [email protected] I thank you for your ongoing support, and kind words. This is the hardest decision we have had to make as we love what we do, and your kids inspire us everyday to continue to learn and grow ourselves. The benefits of swimming, fitness and consistency for the kids is so important. I cant wait to see your kids and yourselves again in person as soon as we can resume normal classes. Our vision is to empower water safety, swimming and fitness for our families. We plan to get some water safety information out to you, and some videos for the kids. As a small business if you love your classes please jump onto Facebook and Google and review our business. These reviews help us get back up and running much quicker when we can start again. If you have any questions, please email or ring us Kind Regards Tracy and Diane

07.01.2022 Hi All I have just spoken to the National Coronavirus Hotline regarding the 1.5 meter distancing rule. 1. It is not a rule it is a guideline and or recommendati...on 2. In cases where an organisation is unable to follow this guideline due to the operation of the business Eg hairdresser or for safety ie swim school it is permitted to transgress this guideline. 3. They advised to attempt to follow the recommendation where it is safe to do so ie with more advanced swimmers who are water safe. They were very specific about this and informed me to go about our usual business. Kindest regards Andrew Baildon SUPERFISH Swim Schools #WeALLSwimTogether

02.01.2022 This article highlights some of the problems we shall be facing this summer. Alot of children will have forgotten their swimming skills, so supervision is of utmost importance for the return of children to water, either in a pool, spa or at the beach. Drownings have 300% over a 5 year average for the past 3 months in Victoria. ... Please make sure as the weather is warming up, that you supervise your children if they are coming into contact with water. Hoping to see you all soon. #kidsalive #KidsLivesMatter
