23.01.2022 Day 3 - the last of the marathon legs, a rest day and then the big one! Cool conditions make for a better day for the runners - and lovely light for the photographers.
23.01.2022 Sorry, I have been alerted by Jacui Parker that I in a late night stupor I forgot to upload the last of my images from Day 5. No excuse really was not as late as previous years. Apologies to all those late arrivals for making you feel neglected. Run again next year and I promise not to forget you again!!
22.01.2022 Big Red Run - Done! Day 6 - a very social, albeit a little painful on those injured legs, 8 Klm "run" to Birdsville. The spirit of the event was on full display at the finish line as runners, crew and volunteers mingled to celebrate the past five days of a very unique experience.... Rest well runners - looking forward to seeing some you again next year.

21.01.2022 Day 3 - Hump Day or more correctly Dune Day - really put the runners to the test today especially once the early morning cloud cleared and conditions became a little warm. Past halfway now - rest day tomorrow and then the big day.

15.01.2022 DAY 5 - The night day -it starts in the dark and for many of the runners ends in the dark. 84 Klms a brief 8 or 9 hour run for a few, a 20 hour marathon of pain for others all of those and everyone in-between is a winner on this very testing day.

08.01.2022 On to the second half of the event distance and the organisers set a" Rest Day" shorter distances but just so that it wasn't too easy - another 26 sand hills and a very boggy salt lake crossing.
07.01.2022 Well here we are back in the Simpson Desert for the Big Red Run 2018. After Monday night's rain we woke to a very foggy morning which turned the desert into yet another stunning landscape.
04.01.2022 After the foggy start to yesterday, today dawned bright and clear albeit a little cool with ice on a few tents. I turned on the car and was warned about possible ice on the roads - in the Simpson Desert???? Oh yeah - and the flies came back!
02.01.2022 BIG RED RUN 2016 - EVENT BOOK Good News... The 2016 Big Red Run book (the Photographers's Edition) is now available for viewing through the link below. (Please note: In the linked images there appears a shadow in the centre of the page - You WILL NOT see this in the final product as your book will be prepared using "lay flat" processing - the centre line will be almost seamless.) ... If you like what you see you can then email us at [email protected] and let us know of your interest and the size that you would like. I know that I have said it before but whilst the large size is expensive, it really is worth the extra money. As an incentive we will also include 18x12 prints (valued at $150.00) of two of your favourite images with any A3 book order. Once we have recorded your interest we will search for all photos of you in our collections, we will send you those in a PDF format. You can then tell us which images you want included and you can even tell us which images to exclude. Some standard change that we will make are... The front cover and spline will bear your name (you can add other details such as time, place or personal message - within space allowed). The last page before the sign off images will be replaced with a large image of your "screen shot" and your performance details. We will do our best to cater for your special requirements. Finally, can you please check your details, tell any of your friends who may not do Facebook and most importantly - Enjoy! Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
