Whilst this will allow limited travel for residents of the area it does NOT allow for the travelling Tourist to this area just yet. We are open for Essential workers in cabins. 03.01.2022 Cook Shire will be open from Midday Friday 3 July - "Bookings Essential" 2 JULY 8.55AM - COOK SHIRE ENTRY RESTRICTIONS TO LIFT 3 JULY Following intense lobbying by the Cooktown Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Inc and the Cook Local Disaster Management Group, the Chief Health Officer and the Premier have announced that Cook Shire will be open to visitation by all Queenslanders from midday Friday 3 July. Other Cape communities will have discretion to open up early if they wish,... but this has not yet been confirmed. The Mulligan Highway and airport control points will remain in place to conduct ID and health checks. Further information will be provided as it comes to hand.
