17.01.2022 POSTPONED! Hi everyone. Unfortunately we will have to postpone the LAUNCH at the Bigfoot Fest as the grounds are too wet and camera equipment will be damaged. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who sponsored, volunteered and helped to organise today. We will reschedule so keep an eye on the site Let’s hope some of this rain gets out to the farmers.

15.01.2022 Come to the Launch of the "BIG ART TEAM HUMAN" who will be CREATING AN ART DATABASE of protest street artist, musos and accessible posters for today's REBELS : Yes we are Loudly launching this Sat 12th October starting 11am In one of Australia's most important Wetlands hidden off the back streets at Eagleby a bunch of Australia's Leading STREET ARTISTS(the original old skool REBELS) will be LIVE CELLO-GRAFF PAINTING launching its #ProtestBigArt- Team Human campaign that ai...ms to create the world's biggest database of protest posters,performers and LIVE artists to empower the next rebels in support of change. Saturday's approach is different to the usual EXTINCTION REBELLION gig. In every city protesters need artdesigns and the sounds that open our eyes and ears and senses to what we are losing - they define the placards that broadcast calls for change- they make the art and beats that disrupts our complacency and stands as society's conscience & critics. The Launch GIG is on World Migratory Bird day in a wetland where endangered birds flock from Russia and Japan to feed and roost among century old art- carved Aboriginal Scarred-up Ghost Gums. Street ARTISTS WILL before the public's eyes JOLT US into awareness of the life disappearing around us to the beats of the bushland. Eagleby was chosen as the Launcher Site as it stands as a good example of very important little places around Australia & the World that may be lost -a place where the mud & its bush & kids are significant - REALITY SPEAKS THAT WETLANDS ARE DISAPPEARING FASTER THAN FORESTS AND A ROAD DESTINED through its guts will make it an EAGLE SANDWICH with FREEWAYS to the North, East & West & it will = EXTINCTION of local humans & rare birds & animals ! There are no sidelines to stand on. Critical voices need to become hands which shape our interventions. In Eagleby for example - a real strugglers suburb there is the highest ratio of children 0-12 years in the Southern Hemisphere so a call out to creative community to help is vital - Street Art is a popular grown-up industry to offer their support and rally round the students and young people who face an uncertain future if we don't all take action. NOW OR NEVER , we need to be radical. We need to rise up and we want to ensure the cost on environment & local people is measured beyond just dollars and cents. Which comes to our reason of involvement- ALL TOGETHER- we need to share - creative people around Australia can add their talents & BIG ART to an archive free of charge - creatives can create and upload their own or download designs,sounds and creativity- adding to the continually growing open-source set of placard and rebel designs and rebel roars. 13.01.2022 Just going to start showing some of the famous BIG ART murals around the world -that maybe you haven't seen - this is in the same country as where Lilli Quirke is living and working at present. Here we have a famous mural of a famous painting that once travelled the world and indeed it is a World Expo which made it famous and become a mural theme across many WORLD WALLS , the original by Sandro Botticelli famous Italian artist , 14441510 ’s it is The Birth of Venus (ca.... 1486) which is everywhere. The early Renaissance painter’s rendition of the goddess of love has been used to sell Reebok sneakers, suitcases, and Adobe Illustrator software; inspired photoshoots and music videos featuring the likes of Beyoncé and Lady Gaga; and versions of it graced the cover of The New Yorker twice. For background by the way Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini organized a series of traveling exhibitions of the Italian Old Masters as a political move that The Birth of Venus developed its primacy among Botticelli’s oeuvre. The mural painted on canvas (rather than wood, like many others of the time), this "Venus" could be shipped internationally without the fear of warping or cracking. The piece was a smash hit in London, Paris, and San Francisco’s 1935 World’s Fair; and, finally, in 1940 at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. In some 74 days, the museum welcomed 290,000 visitors; newspapers reported that one in every 25 people in the city saw the work. Below is a picture of Venus which got a SoCal makeover in this series of murals by artist Rip Cronk. As a muralist-in-residence for Los Angeles’s Social and Public Art Resource Center in the 1970s and ’80s, Cronk received a commission to complete Venice on the Half-Shell (1981), his first large-scale interpretation of Botticelli’s work. Cronk’s 20th-century Venus wears roller skates, short-shorts, leg warmers, and a crop top; she’s also no longer a blonde. Half of a giant clam shell hovers behind her as she skates leisurely down the Venice Beach boardwalk. When years of weather and graffiti ruined the work, which was originally on display in the Venice Pavilion, he painted a second version: Venice Reconstituted (1989). Even a very famous painting won’t be seen by the number of people who will see this, Cronk told the Los Angeles Times in 1989. He interpreted the mural a third time in 2010, titling it Venice Kinesis in a reference to the neighborhood’s continuing evolution. It stands there still today. This is inspiration plus Big Art is doing this to rev everyone up - gee it's 30 years since Brisbane held World Expo 88 and as many know June not only worked on its designs like how pavilions looked etc that sold it to the rest of the world but she was also there daily there as the human robot painting under the monorail drawing crowds of 1000s watching her spray mini murals . If any local groups, such as youth centres and dance centres are up for a few short time teaching, contact us.... We are currently in Nort Queensland, Bowen, Townsville etc..
