24.01.2022 Monash Adventure Park in South Australia *Traveling Families Beware* YOUR CHILDREN WILL NEVER WANT TO LEAVE... It is absolutely AMAZING And, hands down, one of the best children's playgrounds we've been to so far... and it's FREE! However, donations are welcome and for good reason. Endless fun! It even has a newly built maze with another playground in the middle if you can find it Ticks every box - Drinking fountain BBQ's Toilets Plenty of seating So many swings Slides that require a mat to slide on Jungle gyms Climbing equipment Towers to explore... I mean the list goes on... There's even giant goldfish in the ponds, surrounded by beautifully maintained lawns and grounds. 24.01.2022 I'm going to get super honest right now. Completely raw Traveling has been such a fantastic experience for my family and for me personally, but I will not lie when I say life for me is hectic! ... FOUR kids, two teenage girls who I both homeschool, a full time job and a grade nine Californian student I teach creative writing to every Sunday. Sometimes, I feel like I'm running on fumes. I haven't shaved my legs in a month! A MONTH! I seriously have not had the time. I start my Graduate Certificate at Uni again on Monday, my last two Units for Forensic Psychology. I like being busy, especially when we get to explore on top of everything else, but some days, days like today, my brain is wiped and I still have a million and one things to do. I worked today. Tomorrow is my only day off and my Miss seven has assignments to catch up on, sheets to send in and diagnostic tests to sit and all I want to do is sleep in and binge watch Lucifer on Netflix and then go explore the Riverlands all afternoon before Monday comes and Uni starts as well as another work day. Oh, and did I mention Miss seven also broke her tooth right in half? Yep, so, big dentist appointment as well on Monday to pack and refill her tooth. 23.01.2022 I write these posts for two reasons - one) because it forces me to create a journal of memories I will one day look back on and forever be grateful for... And two) because I want to be for YOU what some of those other families were for ME... A beacon of hope - hope that one day we would get to live the dream of being on that open road with our family. ... I want to motivate you! I want to ease some of the stress that tortured my dreams involving home-schooling. I want to tell you that if you want to make money while traveling, you can! I want to tell you that this will be the best decision you will EVER make... I also want to tell you, that there will be ups and there will be downs. Jobs don't come easy or by just clicking your fingers. Bills still have to be paid. Car and caravan maintenance can be stressful and home schooling and distance education is a new kind of challenge. Right now, we have our own slice of private right on the banks of the Murray River. I work all day but by the end of next week we should have our rear wheel bearings fixed on the Patrol, the water hose fixed under the caravan and the new 12v water pump we have coming to get water directly from the river should be here... See? New challenges but the perks are so much more satisfying. 15.01.2022 Most people celebrate #Valentines Day today, but the meaning for us is a little different. Six years ago, you popped the question and although we haven't really sealed the deal, it doesn't matter, we are husband and wife in everything that matters. Nine years we've spent building our lives together and I won't lie, there's been some incredibly tough times and probably tough times to come but you are the man that makes my coffee in the morning, feeds me awesome food when I b...urn it, and makes me laugh at really inappropriate times. Sometimes we are the complete opposites yet agree on so much. We both move in the same direction and want what's best for our little family, and that's always what has driven us and made us both better people individually and with each other.
