21.01.2022 Do you work with animals, such as in the agricultural, meatworking or tourism industries? Cairns Tropical Public Health Services is urging people to take precau...tions against Q Fever a bacterial disease carried by animals that has been identified in the region. There have been 23 recent cases of the disease, with most in the Mareeba area. Q Fever is an illness caused by the bacteria Coxiella burnetii, carried by animals such as cattle, sheep, goats and kangaroos. The bacteria can also persist in dust and soil. Hand washing and wearing P2 masks can help reduce the risk of infection, and there is a Q Fever vaccine available. Symptoms of the disease include: fever and chills; severe sweats; severe headache, especially behind the eyes; muscle pain; weakness and tiredness; and weight loss. Anyone with Q Fever symptoms is urged to contact their local GP or phone 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84). See more

13.01.2022 Hi everyone We wish to advise that our phone lines and internet are down. They went down Tuesday afternoon and continue to be down. We are trying to remedy the situation with Telstra but it is extremely difficult and slow as they are now using texting as there means of communication. We have been prioritised to the next level but I anticipate it won't be fixed quickly. Please call 0419 670 729 if you wish to contact us. We are still operational with email via phone. Sorry f...or any inconvenience. Please pass this round. Thanks Julie Chapman EDIT: Thanks everyone for your patience but we are now back up and running and can be reached on our normal phone line 4127 1128 thank

12.01.2022 Half way done! I’m 260 hrs in and he’s really starting to take shape. I’ve done big pieces before but this guy is on another level, just the sheer thickness of... these animals is mind boggling. A few things I have learnt along the way: - I forget how much a weld down your sock hurts - You can never add too many spanners - Make sure your ladder is secure while you weld the high points - Enjoy the process! Tuesday was also World Rhino Day so I thought it’d be fitting to do a post this week. They are amazing animals.

01.01.2022 Attention customers Due to power blackouts and potentially severe weather, we are closed for the rest of the afternoon. We will be back on board as normal tomorrow. thank you for understanding. Hopefully we will get some rain out of this
