The beach itself is beautiful (as are all the beaches down here), but it’s a free camp which is even better! We stayed here for a week and it was our first base camp to explore the Esperance area! ... Save this one and add it to your list!

This is Curtain Fig Tree, heritage listed and it’s Atherton Tablelands most photographed tree and you can definitely understand why. ... Curtain Fig tree is located just outside Yungaburra, a small town in the tablelands. It’s also one of the largest trees in Tropical North Queensland. A little birdie also told me that there is another giant fig tree in the tablelands called cathedral fig tree. These trees are worth a look just to see the sheer size of them. We were here 4 years ago and it’s totally changed since then. The park has had some major renovations with a new boat ramp, cabins, shower block up grades and they are also in the process of building a new pub as well as some flash on suit sites .
