21.01.2022 I’ll be starting sharp at 5.30. Hope to see you there.

15.01.2022 This is a good read for the dark cold days of winter. Enjoy.

15.01.2022 A lot of us are getting extra time to think at the moment. One question that I ask regularly is 'What is success?" This answer popped up in my inbox moments ago. "To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived -- this is to have succeeded."

15.01.2022 Hi folks, I hope you are all finding something to love about lockdown. Remember silver linings are a standard feature of most clouds. I’ll be playing an hour live set on Anzac Day...a mix of classic Aussie covers and Big Red Writing originals. I’m thinking a 3pm start.

14.01.2022 The second album on my list is Abbey Road, the Beatles last album together, released in 1969. They say that if you can remember the 60s you weren’t there, but my small home town, Dorrigo was still pretty innocent then. The 60s, hippies, drugs and all that arrived about 1972.

12.01.2022 It’s a cold old day in Dubbo and I’m looking forward to playing a few tunes at 4.30. It will be just me and the piano and 6 original songs, starting with one almost 30 years old and finishing with a track finished about that number of days ago. Hope you can tune in.

12.01.2022 The 3rd Album in my top 20 is Tea for the Tillerman, released by Cat Stevens in 1970. Great melodies, powerful lyrics, soulful voice and a social conscience.

10.01.2022 6 songs to warm your Saturday

08.01.2022 I was recently nominated by Lucy Graham to take up the 20 day Album Challenge. Thanks Lucy ...said with a tiny bit of sarcasm but also a little gratitude. It made me look through my collection and revived some memories. If you’ve been listening to music as long as I have, you’ll know that 20 favourites hardly scratches the surface, so it’s an interesting exercise to think of the music that I enjoyed the most. Top of my list is Shane Howard’s River released in 1990 when I was getting serious about writing and recording my own songs and found this album truly inspiring.

07.01.2022 6 iconic covers and 6 originals to celebrate an unusual Anzac Day.

05.01.2022 Hi folks, heads up I'll be doing a half hour Live slot on Saturday from 4.30pm. 6 originals, including 4 that are available for streaming on Spotify, iTunes etc and a couple you won't have heard before including a brand new one. Hope you can tune in.

04.01.2022 Hi Folks, I hope you’ve had a good week, or are at least holding onto your sense of humour. This will pass. Heads up tomorrow’s Half Hour of Big Red Writing originals will kick off at 5.30. I’m trying to find the best Pre dinner spot at the moment. That one suits me best, hope you can be there.

02.01.2022 I don’t know what these guys are saying but it sounds great.
