21.01.2022 An interesting article came up on my feed about the life span of surge protectors. It made me curious, because I've failed quite a few over the past 6 months. They were mainly old and had obvious wear, but I've since done some reading. These very useful items do have a use by. Any power spike, power surge or build up of heat will affect your surge protector. In fact once it has absorbed its rating of joules, it will no longer function as a surge protecting device. If you hav...e current sensitive devices plugged into a surge protector, (computers are the main culprit), then you really want it working so that you don't loose precious saved data. This is something that I can advise from first hand experience. Testing will go some way to providing adequate protection, regular replacement of these devices provides better protection, but a UPS may be your best option to protect your current sensitive equipment. Each option is progressively more expensive, but then, how much is the data on your computer's hard drive worth? Makes you think.

19.01.2022 Well that's different! First time I've seen one of these. Manufactured after 1995,so needed a new plug, but passed otherwise. Had to dig out some overseas adapters I had at home.

08.01.2022 Hello, It's been a while since I've posted anything. If your plugs look like any of these that I've replaced over the last couple of days, they need replacing.
