18.01.2022 Sophie Kirkham grew up in Branxholm which is a small town just down the road from Derby, Tasmania. She started working in the Mountain Bike Industry when she was 14 years old and was well and truly bitten by the MTB bug. She is now an apprentice bike mechanic at Big Mountain - Derby. 17.01.2022 I am really proud to have worked on this project. It was a true collaboration right in the midst of Tassie's pandemic response. Zoom, conference calls, emails and a few socially distant meetings resulted in a beautiful snapshot of our home. Thank you to all of the locals who trusted me with their likeness and so willingly participated. Thank you to Jayne Richardson from Break O'Day Council who's creative vision inspired this piece. Thank you to Jasper at J.Da Seymour Photomed...ia who expertly edited all of the images together. Sometimes you can get too close to the images and characters you film. Jasper's objective set of eyes and highly creative mind has produced a piece of communication that is greater than the sum of its parts. I am stoked to have been a part of it all! The video was created for a submission to the "Tassie's Top Tourist Towns" competition. The winner is decided by a panel of judges and a people's choice vote. 01.01.2022 Right in the midst of the corona virus live music obliteration that was March/April, @pete_cornelius pitched a project. The idea was big. We would apply for some money and get a whole bunch of musicians from all over our fair state of #tasmania to record an album. It’s been a mission and it’s all coming together this week. I have had the pleasure of being a fly on the wall and documenting the whole process. The sounds and musical wizardry that has taken place in the St Marys ...District High School Performing arts centre is pure witch craft. I can’t wait to unleash this music and vision into the world.
