19.01.2022 Good morning dear Cycling Community. It is with great sadness that we write this post but after much discussion, Dave and I have decided that the safest thing to do for the next few weeks regarding the Corona Virus, is to cancel all group rides until further notice. On a busy Saturday, as we gather together before the ride, we have up to 150 people gathering and also after the rides at Leapfrogs there are often around 100 people together. Even during the rides we are still in... close proximity to 15 to 20 people. These are all risk situations that can be avoided in this difficult time. As you know, we have barely had to cancel a single ride in over 11 years, but we have considered that the risk is too high and we want to do our part in eliminating the spreading of this dreadful virus. I would encourage everyone to get out on their own, or in smaller groups and ride. Cycling will keep your immune system healthy and strong. Be wise and we really hope to see yall in the saddle SOON!! We would also like to encourage our community to care for one another, so if there are any needs, please let us know so that we can rally the troops and help one another through these difficult times!

19.01.2022 These new Merida Reactos look great. Looking forward to seeing some of these on the road late in 2020!

We will get more in if the response to the new light is good https://hauteworks.com/cliq https://youtu.be/GSiTfZwGTPk

15.01.2022 The BIGGEST news in W.A. road cycling has arrived. A 1.5km dedicated road circuit for training and racing. Imagine tearing around a uni-directional, 5 metre wide circuit, complete with the option of high banked corners comparable to an indoor track! And a 200m long false flat sprint finish. The City of Wanneroo looks set to back a 1.8 or 2.2 million dollar facility, built by 2022. Item 3.8 (Splendid Park Cycling Facility) found here: https://wanneroo.infocouncil.biz//BSS_26...052020_AGN_AT_WEB. HOW CAN YOU HELP GET IT BUILT? 1) Demonstrate the need by signing friends and family as SUPPORTERS here: https://www.northernbeachescycling.com/membership 2) Between 8/6/20-3/7/20 give constructive feedback during the City of Wanneroos public consultation period. There will be some negative feedback from community members who fear anything that is different, so we MUST show how much support there is for this. Otherwise it stalls. SO please take a few minutes, not just to like this post, but recruit SUPPORTERS NOW. This has been a decade in the making. See more

15.01.2022 COMPETITION TIME To celebrate the relaunch of the Orbea brand at Bike Force Joondalup, we are holding a competition to see who can design the nicest looking Orbea bike. In recent years Orbea have changed their business model with a primary focus that has moved towards customisation rather than mass produced bikes. They do produce some standard options but their customisation options are easy to work with and do not really affect the pricing for your chosen set of gears........... Why get the same colour as everyone else when you can make your own? The three categories in the competition will be Road male, Road female and Mountain bikes. The prizes will be as follows: Road Male - a Limar 778 Road helmet (RRP is $129) Mountain bike - a Limar X Ride MTB helmet (RRP is $109) Road Ladies - a custom jewellery voucher from Teylee Jewellery Teylee is a new business that Daves brother has set up. They have kindly offered us a $120 voucher which can be used off any of their custom designed jewellery. Teylee offers a unique customisation process online (hence the parallel with Orbea). Have a look at this link where you can see some information on their business and also play around under the "shop/design studio" tab to see how it all works. These are great gift items if you are looking for something unique. https://www.teylee.net/about-us/ The Orbea customisation platform is called MYO. You will see some road bike options as well as mountain bike options as you scroll down. The men and ladies can just choose any of the road bikes to customize (as they keep the geometry the same for the ladies) and you can just choose a different stem set up to suit. You can choose any of the mountain bikes to build on https://www.orbea.com/au-en/myo/step-1/ Below are some images of bikes that we have custom designed as examples. Only one entry per person (please pick one category only) and all entries to be in by the end of business on 21st September with winners announced before the end of September. To submit and entry download your design as a PDF and email it to [email protected]

12.01.2022 We have been offering Studio 19 rentals on bikes over $2500 and indoor smart trainers over $1500 for some time. In light of the Covid 19 pandemic, Studio 19 have dropped the value required on indoor trainers down to $650 to allow more people access to indoor smart trainers. This equates to a weekly rental of $7.15 which is much more accessible. The demand for indoor trainers has been higher than normal at this time of year and some brands are temporarily out of stock but we still have Bkool smart trainers (wheel on) at $650 and we have some Kinetic R1 direct drive options on the way too. 05.01.2022 In the chaotic business and social environment we are currently experiencing, there are still massive benefits to cycling both mentally and physically. Whether you are commuting on your bike to avoid crowded trains, or just need to get out in the sun for a short ride, as long as you comply with government guidelines, cycling is still a great activity that can help keep you healthy. At the moment we are open and able to service customers looking for new bikes or repairs to exi...sting bikes so you can still pop in and we can look after you as usual. If you are uncomfortable coming in to the store we are always willing and able to look after you remotely. You can call us (08-93011050) or email us ([email protected]) and tell us what you are looking for - we can email you options and prices and we can even deliver your new bike to your house. If you are looking for bike repairs or servicing, we can also arrange to collect and return your bike to your house so give us a call to discuss this. We will continue to modify the way we do business so you can keep supporting us in these difficult times. We can help you to keep cycling :)

03.01.2022 FAQS ABOUT FORCE CYCLE CREW: I joined the Force Cycle Crew in 2019. Do I need to join again? Yes, this is an annual arrangement so you need to rejoin each year to carry on enjoying the benefits and to get the new updated kit? Why dont we use Pedal Mafia kit instead of Chinese made kit? There are many options with kit and we are constantly looking into different options for the shop in general. However, our aim is to keep the price of the kit reasonable to cater for everyone ...(lots of people cannot afford $300 kit each year). We aim for reasonable quality at a reasonable price. At $129 per annum even if you ignore the other benefits, the kit represents great value. Why has the cost gone up to $129? We are improving the quality of the kit with better fabrics, a better quality chamois and a better cut in the garments and this has increased the cost I already have lots of kit and I dont need any more. Joining the club means more than merely the kit. The kit is a way of showing that you are part of the group though and the idea is to wear it for the Saturday rides (primarily). You can use the other kit for other rides. I dont like the design. It is impossible to please all the people all the time. We have tried different things each year and we will keep changing the kit to try and keep it fresh looking. Hopefully your desire to support the shop and what we are doing will be greater than your dislike of the kit (we have had a pretty good response to the new design anyway so hopefully you do not dislike it) I dont like yellow/black/pinkcan we do different colours? Bike Force as a brand uses particular colours (mainly black yellow and white but pink was allowed for the ladies as an officially endorsed variation). As we are the main driver of this initiative we naturally want to build this brand identity so these will remain our primary colours unless we change the brand completely one day Why do we get new kit every year? The club membership is annual and we have new sponsors each year. The new kit design allows us to keep the kit looking good and allows us to include and promote new sponsors each year rather than promoting sponsors that are no longer involved I do not like bib shorts is there another option? If you have not tried bibs, give them a go as most will agree they are better. However, if you adamantly dont want bibs, we can do two jerseys for you with no bib as an alternate. Can I join and support the club but not get the kit? The sentiment is good and we are glad you want to support the club but give the kit a go. Our sponsors have given us funds to help build their brands a big part of that is the kit. If you dont wear the kit you are watering down the benefit to the sponsors. See more
