We might POSTIE about it later... ;) A reminder that al...l bikes at this event are limited to 10.00 or slower and 130 mph until we confirm otherwise. No bikes with IHRA tech or a known capacity to go quicker than 10.00 will be permitted to race. And if you are wondering how quick your bike might go? if you don't know, there is a very good chance that you won't be quicker than a 10.00 so come on down and give it a go! 11.01.2022 TONIGHT IS BIKE NIGHT AT SYDNEY DRAGWAY. Gates open at 4.30. First-timers' school at 5.45. Racing from 6.00 till 9.30. Competitors $60 Spectators $20 Trackside Viewing (over 18's only) $30... 12 to 16 year olds & Seniors $10 Under 12 FREE IMPORTANT INFO FOR RACERS Bike Nights are run under an IHRA sanction. The following rules are in place for all riders. RIDER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Street Motorcycles, 9.50 and slower Approved full-face helmet ECE22.05 or AS/NZS 1698:2006 as a minimum. The old AS1698 standard is not allowed. That standard is now 13 years out of date. Open-face helmets are not allowed Leather or purpose-made motorcycle riding jacket; leather or purpose-made motorcycle riding gloves; leather or purpose-made motorcycle riding long pants; and leather or purpose-made motorcycle riding boots that fully cover the ankles. Elastic-sided boots are not permitted. Hoodies are not permitted. MOTORCYCLE REQUIREMENTS All motorcycles require a chainguard that covers the top run of the chain from the centre of the rear axle and forward. A taillight is also mandatory. That can be as simple as a rear-facing torch securely fastened to the bodywork so that we can see it from the startline. ALL MOTORCYCLES, 9.49 AND QUICKER Rider’s protective equipment must comply with relevant IHRA Competition regulations. Rider requires IHRA licence. Motorcycle requires IHRA Logbook NOTES Note 1: All riders must hold the appropriate level of civil motorcycle licence, either provisional or unrestricted. Note 2: Holders of a Learner Rider Licence, Provisional P1 Rider Licence or Provisional P2 Rider Licence may only compete on a LAMS-approved motorcycle. Note 3: All riders are restricted to ride motorcycles with engine capacities as determined by their civil licence. Note 4: A civil car licence will not be accepted for motorcycle competitors.

04.01.2022 The Sydney Dragway Board and Project Steering committee are pleased to announce that a successful tenderer for the track construction works has been awarded. Af...ter a very extensive evaluation process, the successful tenderer satisfied the Project committees tender requirements, giving it confidence that they were well placed to meet the specification and tolerances of the new racing surface. Demolition of the existing track and the construction of a full 500 meter concrete race track, as well as a resurfacing of the braking area, should commence early next week. We will keep you updated of the progress and we are looking forward to getting back to racing as soon as possible.
