25.01.2022 General service for a Cell hybrid.

25.01.2022 Polygon Diablo - Polygon has really stepped up these days with their bikes from the initial offerings 15 years ago. Quality of frames and finish are up right up there with the best. Check out this Diablo with an XT drivetrain that came in for some minor adjustment.

24.01.2022 First of 4 bikes which came in over the weekend, covered with sawdust and partly open to the elements. This Giant had a seized chain, sticky derailleurs and brakes, and a brake shoe missing. Granny gear was bent as well, causing the chain to skip out. Full service and lube, tightening of the headset with a new chain and a spare brake block (with a hammer for the bent granny...) makes it good to go!

11.01.2022 Daniel Rispoli SCS derailleur hangers. Specialized's gift to the unsuspecting world. In summary, for reasons known only to the big S, they put a 130mm disc hub on a 135mm frame. No big deal if you want to stick with the standard wheels. The original wheels on this bike came with 130mm disc hubs. The problem is that you can't upgrade to other wheels, as ALL other disc road wheels are 135mm. In order for the 130mm to work on a 135mm frame, I present you the SCS hanger. T...his special hanger on certain Specialized bikes is offset 2.5mm into the dropouts to accommodate the 130mm hub in the 135mm frame. 135 - 130 = 5mm, 2.5mm each side. If you stick a normal disc brake wheel in there, it's not going to work. Spent a few weeks looking for a NON SCS hanger, and these are as rare as hens teeth. Finally found one which was taken off a later Specialized bike (Specialized have no clue where to get a new one, they discontinued SCS after a couple of years because it didn't work!) which will fit the Diverge. Something to look out for if you are in the market for a used Specialized Crux, Diverge or Roubaix road bike between 2015 - 2017. Buyer beware!!
