Some students come to work on their balance, lose weight, or re-strengthen joints after injury. Others come to unwind and de stress, to connect with friends and likeminded people, or to work on self awareness and acceptance. 24.01.2022 How can you successfully commit to your Yoga and Pilates classes? 1. Each week set a reasonable goal - some weeks it might be two to three classes, other weeks more. Be ok with that. 2. Pre-Book into class, or better, Pre-Pay for class. We are all more likely to commit when we have invested money into being somewhere. 3. Ask a friend or family member to join you - this adds a social element and also helps keep you accountable for showing up. 4. Join the morning classes - se...t your alarm, just get up, and go. Then class is done for the day and theres less chance you will procrastinate it away in the afternoon. 5. Prioritize your sleep. When we arent sleeping well, productivity and motivation decrease - when we flip that, we are more energized, determined and able to make decisions beneficial for our health and wellbeing. 19.01.2022 Tomorrow, Saturday 5 September 9-10:15am at Nundah, we have our monthly Kundalini Yoga class with Trudy. What is Kundalini Yoga? Its an ancient practice focusing on breath and asana (a.k.a. physical postures) along with chanting, meditation, and singing. The idea is that we all have energy gathered at the base of our spine and, through the practice of Kundalini, we bring that energy up our spine and through the seven chakras - trapped, stagnant energy flows freely with vital...ity. Other benefits? The practice builds strength, improves mood, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, enhances memory and focus, and boosts metabolism and digestion.
