24.01.2022 A MASSIVE congratulations to Bilambil Landcare group coordinator, Gary Austin, on receiving a Special Recognition Certificate in the Wildlife & Habitat Conservation category of the 2019 Inaugural Tweed Sustainability Awards. Anyone who knows of Gary's tireless work on the Bilambil Landcare site knows just how much he deserves this recognition. Thank you Tweed Shire Council! Yes, it's a team effort but without Gary's unwavering, long-term commitment to this site, and his many... years of voluntary blood sweat & tears, we wouldn't be lucky enough to be part of such a successful restoration project. Keep up the brilliant work! #TLI #ManyHandsWorkingTogether

16.01.2022 One month to go til the Aussie Backyard Bird Count! Back for its sixth year, the Aussie Backyard Bird Count 21-27 October is a great way to connect with the... birds in your backyard, no matter where your backyard happens to be. You can count in a suburban backyard, a local park, a patch of forest, down by the beach, or the main street of town. To take part all you need is 20 minutes and your favourite outdoor space. Not only will you be contributing to BirdLife Australia's knowledge of Aussie birds, but there are also some great prizes on offer. Head over to the website and register as a Counter today! bit.ly/AusBirdCount #AussieBirdCount

11.01.2022 The NSW Government is running a state-wide community wildlife survey. The information will also help us protect and manage wildlife in the Tweed. The interact...ive survey is asking about ten animals including kangaroos, koalas, echidnas and foxes http://ow.ly/w3iC50vN5fj The info will be used as part of the NSW Koala Strategy to understand changes in koala populations, including a comparison to a similar survey completed in 2006.

05.01.2022 It's super easy to become a citizen scientist! Download this app. Record frog calls with it during FrogID Week. Submit your recordings at the end of the week. SIMPLES!... "FrogID Week is Australia’s Biggest Frog Count, held annually for Australians to help record frog calls as a measurement of frog health and distribution around the nation. It aims to monitor frog distributions over time, helping us to understand how frogs and their ecosystems are responding to a changing planet."
