22.01.2022 Footballer injury recovery and prevention, it often starts from the ground up! So how can we help? By modifying the boots, we can change the loads and forces on the foot and leg muscles and tendons to match what the players feel in their runners or to help accommodate an orthosis, allowing for even more changes and greater intervention that can lead to lower rates of re-injury. Also very good if your player has one leg shorter than the other. We can only provided services if the absence of, or delay of this care, would result in a significant change/deterioration in the patient/client’s functional independence necessitating escalation of care. Basically if you are at risk of injury, a fall, ulceration or other type injury, we can see you, if its about just comfort, we cant see you until September. So postal orders for your repairs and other purchases might be the go for now. Please note you do not require a medical referral to see us. We are going to be closed Saturdays until further notice. 19.01.2022 One leg shorter : Hoka shoe modification, 15mm removed. When patients have one leg shorter than the other, it can create a very painful foot/feet, knees, hips and lower back. We often add to the sole thickness of one shoe to make the legs the same length. With the Hoka brand footwear, we were able to make the soling thinner on the longer limb side. A very effective outcome that should be less noticeable to others, but still a great outcome mechanically and an improved comfort... level for our patient. Thinking outside the shoe box. 02.01.2022 Patient with CMT. We fitted this patient with a prefab lite AFO in his existing footwear. We measured the improvements that the AFO made to his ability to walk and stand. With tight carves, foot drop, poor balance, generally weak and instability when you walk, this approach could help improve things for you too. The aim was to generate a report to support his application for NDIS funding and explain to his case manager why he needs the AT.
