23.01.2022 Bateman has made history. Like most other seats in WA, it also chose Labor. In a personalisme addressed letter, the WA Premier had asked for votes for the Labor candidate. At the polling booths, the Labor candidate and volunteers asked for vote in the name of the Premier. With that, all the rival candidates had become practically invisible to people. Liberals got wiped out in the WA. It is the first time in 88 years that, in Australia, the Leader of the Opposition loses hi...s seat while the Opposition gets decimated. In the blood bath, the minor parties stood absolutely no chance against a gigantic Labor wave. In Bateman, despite an extraordinary aggressive and relentless campaign up to the last minute, supported actively by the local Federal minister over phone and through personalised letters the Liberal candidate could not save the seat. In a nutshell, this election was not about candidates or their policies, howsoever good they were, it was a strong expression of people’s vote of confidence in the Labor Premier and their thanks to him. It did not matter whether you campaigned or not, or how long was your campaign, what really mattered was if you had the Labor label and the Premier’s support. If you were not Labor, you had absolutely no chance. With this, I sign off on this page. My sincere thanks and gratitude to all my supporters through these past six months. ... 04.01.2022 WA, please vote wisely today. The hard border option WA’s only available option to handle the Covid-19 pandemic, similar to its past response a century ago to Spanish flu may prove to be the deciding factor in the unprecedented outcome of this election and truly a blessing in disguise for the current Labor government. This election may see many capable, deserving and excellent candidates from other parties struggling against the Labor wave, caused mainly by an unprecedented and phenomenal rise in the WA Premier’s popularity. ... 01.01.2022 The 13-day early voting has ended this evening. Tomorrow evening, we’ll know the people’s verdict. I am satisfied with my hard work. During the last 3 weeks, I have gained respect and appreciation from my rival candidates and their volunteers, which is a major win for me.
