11.01.2022 In the preschool room we have been working on manners, understanding and displaying appropriate behaviours! With the main focus being kindness and respect! Below are some pictures of the rules! We have been explaining to the children that the behaviours above the line are the behaviours that we expect to see! The behaviours that are below the line are indicators that your child is struggling and may need assistance/support from an educator! Bottom line behaviours are unac...ceptable! We are currently formulating a behaviour management plan in conjunction with input from the children and families!! We will share the behaviour management plan as soon as the formalisation has been completed! Please feel free to speak with Jess, Tiff, Lauren, Sarah or myself if you would like to provide us with input into the plan! We have also sought support and guidance from a qualified play therapist an OT and a Speech therapist! We look forward to working with you and your children to build strong and positive relationships! Based on a foundation of mutual respect with kindness in action! Our EYLF~ also shares that children should be able to~ build secure attachments with one and then more familiar educators use effective routines to help make predicted transitions smoothly sense and respond to a feeling of belonging communicate their needs for comfort and assistance establish and maintain respectful, trusting relationships with other children and educators openly express their feelings and ideas in their interactions with others respond to ideas and suggestions from others initiate interactions and conversations with trusted educators confidently explore and engage with social and physical environments through relationships and play initiate and join in play explore aspects of identity through See more

09.01.2022 "Knowledge is experience. Anything else is information." Albert Einstein No one can GIVE us knowledge. ... We must MAKE it for ourselves, out of our experience. When Ben Johnson says we teachers 'engineer learning experiences', one of the things he is referring to is having the 'stuff' to have an experience WITH. Ideally, the teacher knows the genetically encoded play patterns and intelligences of the human child. Aware of these biological patterns of unfolding child development, teachers procure and scavenge materials to put the child "in the driver's seat". It is in the processes of imagining, reckoning, creating, making etc that the learning happens, that knowledge is made and skills are perfected. #teacherscreatetheclimateforlearning #knowledgeisexperience #knowledgeisexperienceanythingelseisinformation #youcannotgiveanyoneknowledge #wehavetomakeknowledge

01.01.2022 Getting children out in the garden is a fun way to introduce them to the natural world around them and to help them learn about food. Understanding how food grows, where it comes from and how to prepare food for cooking and eating can play a big part in encouraging children to explore new foods. Check out ABC for Kids for some fabulous gardening activities for children. Dirtgirl World - https://www.abc.net.au/abckids/shows/dirtgirlworld/make/
