02.01.2022 #Repost @yv_smallerwineries @Billanookestate has two true crowd pleasers hidden in two of the three packs! The Billanook Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2016 is valued at $25.00... This 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is white gold in colour with a green tinge and aromas of green bean and hints of gooseberries. Flavours of gooseberry, pineapple and hints of asparagus, leads to a clean and fresh wine with a lingering light citrus finish. It pairs beautifully with roast chicken served with green vegetables such as asparagus or broccoli, or a simple cheese platter (hint- lean- towards softer goats cheeses)! Billanook Estate Pinot Noir 2015 retails for $38.00. Dark cherry in colour with aromas of ripe plums and mint that follows through to the palate, strawberry and blackberry flavours with warm spices. The dry finish is enhanced by firm tannins and subtle use of oak. Duck is a classic match with Pinot Noir but other dishes that can be matched with the earthy flavours found in this wine include mushroom risotto, beef bourguignon and even fatty fish such as salmon.
