24.01.2022 Taking a little trip down memory lane on Twitter this morning. From March 2013 as I was preparing to leave Canberra and sail off to be a gypsy. Correction: move to Sydney and get a steady job. I did eventually. For six-seven weeks..... "Oh there's sober men and plenty There's drunkards barely twenty There are men of o'er 90 Who have never yet kissed a girl Give me a Ramblin' Rover Fae Orkeney down to Dover We'll roam the country over And together we'll change the world" Bill Q. www.facebook.com/BillTheGypsy

23.01.2022 Sitting listening to the pre-gig live music here and remembering Marcus de Rijk from Taliska whose funeral was held in Melbourne this morning. Sadly, having en...joyed the pre-service music on livestream, as the clergy took the altar, the stream froze and never came back. Later, I took on the gargantuan task of sorting out three to 16 months of accumulated and older stuff in the back of my rented ute. I'd only seen this a week or so ago, but it was nice to open a box of CDs and find this on top. I got it at Uranquinty Folk Festival in 2007 when I first met Marcus and got chatting to him about music and language. I haven't had my Heineken and Scotch whisky yet, but that'll come later tonight. Valé, Marcus.

23.01.2022 Still agitating...

19.01.2022 Cranking up Overheard Productions with the sort of boot up the bum it's been sadly needing for, oh, I dunno, about the last seven to eight years. Guerrilla interview post-production for Jeremiah Johnson - AUS plus shortlisting for admin jobs, and probably a few other things that have been in the In Tray for the last three to four years.

19.01.2022 Hooley Dooley! The story behind this: moved in 4 July. Moved out and in one suburb away with F. 15 July. She asked me to marry me on 18 July. We'd been going out for three months.

18.01.2022 It's times like these when it's 6.06am, I've been awake since 4am while the drunk in Room no. 1 fixes the last of his bottle of Chivas Regal and orange juice, having finished his Johnnie Walker Red Label (also with orange juice ), and I've removed the only possessions I'd moved into the apartment since Sunday 4pm (25 hours after I was supposed to move in because Alcho D. was not physically able to use his phone in that time), and the ute is now parked outside the bakery while I extend the lease with Thrifty Truck and Forklift Rentals while I think vaguely about where I'm going to sleep tonight, and also consider this afternoon's publishing deadlines... It's at times like these that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me all those years ago in 1985 when I left home.

16.01.2022 Last year (2019), I lost 17kgs via changed diet and exercise. People I had known for years, and others for less than a month, were falling over themselves to praise me. It made me...... Really sad. Is that your sense of value? The superficial? In my ability to meet some societal norm about body image? Early this year, against my better judgement, I contacted a woman with self-declared mental issues who'd gone missing in action from one of my social groups. We met up, but after an hour she had to absent herself because she had a 'date' with the absolutely fucking apocryphal TV show 'Married At First Sight'. About half an hour ago, I tried to ring a musician whose work I've known and adored and promoted for almost 19 years. The call rang out. He does not use voicemail. I texted him and do not expect to hear back from him. Say what you like about technology, but it all boils down to this: do you want human contact or not? 'Fess up. Come clean. Save us all the time and trouble of trying. Please.

16.01.2022 A memory from two federal elections ago when I was in Brisbane. I don't know what the NTEC provides at their polling places, but in this upcoming territory election, there's been a noticeable lack of whinging that pencils are provided. The oft-repeated conspiracy theory in previous federal elections is that unscrupulous polling staff can change your vote with an eraser.

16.01.2022 Friday evening: the calm before the infuriating weekend.

13.01.2022 Absolutely jatz-crackered, but very content right now.

13.01.2022 Stuffed to the gunnels, but had a very relaxing day. It's been way overdue.

09.01.2022 This Page - A Hopefully Brief Introduction

07.01.2022 Having a catchup day then headed to Nightcliff Sports Club for this one. My first since #pandemic started. If I can take one round off Air Raid Records, I'll be a happy bloke. But I could use a posse. No, I said: posse!

04.01.2022 Might be doubling up here, but that'll happen...

04.01.2022 It would be soul-destroying except I don't believe in souls. https://youtube.com/watch?v=LdSZo8cPhos

04.01.2022 Starting the day goodly bigly properly.
