22.01.2022 Gooday family and friends. .had some woodworking buisness at Wooden Anchor in mullumbimby yesterday. Andy Ceglinski was cutting some camphor planks..about 4 mtrs long...300 x 40mm. He just replaced /rebuilt wheel bearings..seals etc on this amazing machine and was trying it out.. I had a close look at the blade..wheels etc..upon entering the cut the 4.5" blade didn't even move a mm. He had the travel (cut) speed turned down..as it's capable of moving much faster.. The cuts we...re ruler accurate..and that is A key issue... A fewinutes later..he went down the back to square up some iron box logs into 200mm square posts on the lucas mill.. He's also rebuilding a Detroit GM (2 stroke diesel) Timber Jack log skidder at the moment to use in his felling / salvage operations... He is ONE dedicated and very hardworking young "Wood sniffer" man. And not to mention great and loving father of possibly 2 more potential wood sniffers ! See more

20.01.2022 Some items finished for a client prior to christmas. .silky oak sword and a camphor document size box but taller childs treasures box...

14.01.2022 Last job that went out..20/12/2020 Forest Red Gum...created from 30 yr aged ,very rough milled timber...heaps of grub holes..cracks... cavities....( Natural features !) Should be a great table on Christmas Day....seat 12.. It's very solid and HEAVY !!!!

12.01.2022 Solid & well seasoned , Nsw 'scented' rosewood roots.. Absolutely brilliant for carving..sculpture. .and highly figgured wood sections for jewelry boxes..jewellery. .intarsia etc.. Brilliant rich red extremely gorgeous rich red colour..selling the whole pallet for $250.oo

12.01.2022 Did a trial run on resawing narrow leaf red ironbark timber today..150 x 28mm ..split in half to 150 x 12mm Used a very high carbon blade at first. .leaving quite a rough finish..set tooth blade ..35mm pitch, with left..right..middle.. I changed it over to a 100mm, 35mm pitch..stellite tipped..2.1 mm kerf. Man...it cut like a hot knife through butter.. The Holy Tek HB800 with power feed is just awesome!

10.01.2022 Since my last operation. .and forced "light duties " I've been sort of busy in a slower kind of way..I still thought that I was 30 and could just rip through..catch up real quick. .well...it didn't quite work out that way... In saying that. .some great friends have given me some time and helped me some... I'm just about caught up. .such a releif.. Here's some projects carried out during past few months...

10.01.2022 Well andy ceglinski made us a bunch of nice billets and today and tomorrow we are splitting red mahogany shingles (shakes).. Warm day today in the shop so the fan came out of hibernation.. I think si has been splitting shingles with noelzi and I since he was 13..andy since 15..

09.01.2022 Well..Billinudgel Woodworks just had a new baby...the newcomer is a 350mm deep cut hob drive Re Saw bandsaw.. It runs a 3 1/2" blade..35 mm pitch teeth..and 2.2mm kerf. A good friend wants some old hardwood 250 x 75 beams re sawn down to 12mm slices... should have a couple of small items adressed tomorrow and plugged in on thursday to make sawdust !

06.01.2022 This was another job finished late last year..its solid Amoora timber..'domino' & mitred ,crisp corners , fitted with Blum soft & self closing drawers..the whole unit (including underneath shelf) hung secretly with (150 x 10mm rods from strategically placed studs).. A nice job for a nice couple..all work as done by local trades and turned out beautifully .

The cause for the raffle.. A brother in the timber industry..Neale France of Dijilmari timbers Denmark WA has Motor Neuron Disease real bad. His wife / carer Carla has just been diagnosed with a malignant lump in her breast.. They are really struggling..and have finally called for help... 05.01.2022 Spent the last month sketching, designing, cutting joints, drilling ,worrying (a little ), transporting, assembling, final touch ups ....and there I was. A day after the Empire cafe re opened. Watching the owner very busy, smiling as he went about his coffee making and front of house duties.. The final result way better than my sketches etc... Apparently, every client made awesome comments on the new layout and design... If you are ever in mullum drop in and check it out.. Ca...mphor table material supplied by son Andy at Wooden Anchor..Mann's Rd mullum, old recycled fence palings from a house up at tweed heads, old hardwood from tyagarah salvage.. Loved having a meeting there today, having a coffee and enjoying the fruits of my labour ! LOVE Woodworking !! See more

04.01.2022 Gooday family and friends.. I hope that you are doing ok.. been having some nice rain here lately.. Neale from Djarilmari Timber Products in WA is in a very bad way.. Motor Neuron Disease is destroying his life and his wife / carer Carla has been diagnosed with a malignant breast lump..they are doing the best that they can to get a suitable vehicle for Neale, but they need HELP real BAD !!!! I have donated a handmade guitar and accessories to the value of $850.00 and am selli...ng raffle tickets with ALL proceeds going directly to them..do you know them ? 04.01.2022 Spent another day finishing the re saw.. It's now as good as new..maybe better !

04.01.2022 Gooday family and friends. . This is a post for woodworkers (I think ). This is an incredibly efficient vacuum chuck.. A $2.00 garage sale vacuum cleaner. .a bit of 150 x 75 for the vacuum insert..and a plate of camphor for the adhesion vacuum point..some soft foam rubber and even with the "releif" port open...with all my strength I couldn't take the job off the chuck... You could make a simple foot operated release valve from timber as well.... I have made many of these of varying shapes for many jobs... They are brilliant! Feel free to copy.... Happy woodworking! 04.01.2022 Last year was a struggle actually. .3 operations. .3 months after recovering..then a torn tendon in each shoulder. ..compounded with a serious back issue..but fortunately I had a talented and energetic young friend help me to finish some jobs prior to a short christmas break..this is a 3.6 mtr native pine 2 peice table with matching pair of benches for a happy local client..chairs for the other side..

01.01.2022 Andy Ceglinski. A new toy../ tool to help "feed" the yellow camphor cutter (bandsaw). He's got a few bearings and seals to replace..but once done..these old Timber Jack's are bullet proof..and go forever..they are seriously well built...8 tons of muscle..powered by a screamin GM'y.. (2 stroke diesel ) ..they don't rev that high..but they certainly sound that way !
