25.01.2022 And just like that, a New Year has begun!

24.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/groups/150191782988497/

22.01.2022 A very interesting read, lets bring back manufacturing in Australia.

22.01.2022 The Rotary table and bench in the Town Hall Square was a gift to the Club from our twinned Club in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia to commemorate our 40th Char...ter anniversary in 2011. After suffering nearly 10 years of the worst that Scottish weather could throw at it, it was beginning to look a little bit sorry for itself and in need of some TLC. That was provided by Rotarians Richard and Neil, and our colleagues at Inchmarlo Community Workshop. The timber elements were taken to the workshop where the weathered surface was skinned off to reveal the glorious colours and grain below. A couple of layers of varnish, some shiny new bolts, repainting the Rotary Wheel and highlighting Castlemaine’s name has restored everything to as good as new for the run-up to our 50th Charter celebrations later this year. When you’re passing stop and admire what’s been done, and raise a tinny or two of the amber nectar to our generous friends in Castlemaine See more

18.01.2022 Camp ovens, camp ovens, camp ovens! The guys have been moulding camp ovens most of the week, guessing this is about 1.5 tonnes of metal we now need pour. We still have many more to make before we catch up. We received 5 times our usual orders for the month of July and so far 10 times for August! All this whilst keeping Covid distance from each other and wearing masks which can feel a bit suffocating and fatiguing. Once they are cast, the sledge hammer comes out to knock ...them out of the moulds, our grinder and grit blaster clean them all up before the handles are put on and a final gritblast. The office staff will be busy after that for the next 3-6 weeks matching orders, packing and sending. Then theres the 6 tonne of rail castings, verandah posts, light posts, lace work, architectural castings and all the little castings that are urgently needed . See more

If you intend on phoning, please be patient, I forgot to remove the call diversion Friday, but will do so when our telco opens at 8:30. Stay safe everyone .

15.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone, we will be back on 13th Jan, 2020.Merry Christmas everyone, we will be back on 13th Jan, 2020.

15.01.2022 All of us here at Billmans Foundry would like to say a big thank you to all those who are supporting Australian manufacturing. We expected a general slowdown with the current pandemic, however, at this stage we are continuing to operate as normal. Some of our customers such as Antique Baths in Sydney and Aussie Heatwave in Oakleigh, Vic are also experiencing demand for Australian Cast Products. Please take care everyone, wash your hands regularly, dont go out unnecessarily and keep up the social distancing. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your support.

13.01.2022 Lovely to see happy customers

13.01.2022 We have some very talented artists in Castlemaine.

12.01.2022 In line with supporting Australian Owned power

11.01.2022 The chubby man is getting organized, if you were wanting to order a camp oven for delivery before Christmas , you will need to place your order prior to 31st October 2019. Orders received after this date will be delivered in February 2020. Please email [email protected] if you require an order form .

10.01.2022 Billmans will be open again on the 13th January, keep Blazeaid in mind if you are visiting our area and have some time waiting for us to reopen. Stay safe everyone .

09.01.2022 So, we mentioned back in January we were working on a sculpture that was all hands on deck to have it finished on time. Unfortunately it meant that we got behind on lots of jobs and we wish to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. The artist is Julie Squires, we have worked with Julie on several occasions now and as always it is a pleasure. The commemorative installations were to be unveiled at a Meeting of Two Cultures ceremony Wednesday at Kunell, Botany B...ay but it was all cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. To give you some idea of scale, the large whale is about 8m long and the largest canoe was about 5m long. The whale patterns provided were made from polystyrene coated in fibreglass and the canoe's arrived as freshly carved bark canoes. The pieces were moulded and cast at Billmans Foundry, then welded together by Webb Welding. The canoes and the net were probably the most difficult pieces our moulders have ever done, we have some talented employees! Thank you again Julie for this wonderful opportunity. See more

09.01.2022 Just a reminder that we are closed Friday 5th June and Monday 8th June for the Queens Birthday and a fixed RDO. Have a lovely weekend everyone, we'll get back to you on Tuesday 9th June.

09.01.2022 Well Christmas has come and gone. We have a couple of big jobs to get out of the way then back into the camp ovens. If you wish to order a camp oven for a cook up at Easter , now is the time to order. Please get your orders in prior to the end of this week, 7th February . Email [email protected] for details and our order form, thank you.

09.01.2022 Billmans Foundry will be taking a little extra time off with our families this Easter , as we did last year. We will be back on Monday 20th April. As it has been so busy, we will be keeping an eye on emails, so still send your email enquiries, those we can answer will be replied to over the coming week, however, please be aware that we are not in the office or the factory during this time. Stay safe and remember to stay at home.

09.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/dolmanpattern/ We would like to introduce Dolman Pattern & Model Makers, we have worked with Peter for a number of years and a number of projects, the recreation of the Valhand Drinking Fountain and Light was a big project. As no sections of the light remained, we worked with the now retired Glen Pettman and Dolman Pattern Makers on the recreation. Glen drew the light to scale from some very hazy photo's and Peter carved the armature from timber to create the pattern for us to cast the bronze pieces. Photo's to come in comments.

07.01.2022 Thank you to everyone placing orders with our company, we are currently being inundated with orders for camp ovens, fountains, lacework, seats, posts etc etc. It is wonderful to see that so many people are supporting Australian Made and Australian Owned. We have had extra staff in the office when we can to try and keep up with the orders and we appeciate your patience as sometimes it takes a couple of days to process the orders because we don't work 24/7. Unfortunately qualified moulders are impossible to come by, so the guys we have are working really hard to try and get the orders made in a timely manner. Also a reminder, if you are coming to our factory, please phone first. We do need to limit contact to protect the employees from any Covid-19 outbreaks. Take care everyone.

07.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/bryanwindmillscolac/ So we have just started doing castings for Bryan Windmills, but they are a 100% Australian Made company.

07.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/antiquebaths.com.au/ Another great Australian company. Antique Baths Sydney are the only company in Australia manufacturing and restoring Cast Iron Baths,Sinks, Basins, using Vitreous Enamel fired at 850C

07.01.2022 We wish to advise that the best form of contact at present is via email, our phones are currently not always manned. We now have some staff working from home due to the current situation in Victoria and risk to their health if they get Covid-19 . It is best if you make an appointment before coming to our factory / office as not all staff are able to work from home. Take care everyone

06.01.2022 Well it has been a while since we posted anything, safe to say we have all been very, very busy. We have finished the large sculpture job and the guys have been working hard at playing catch up, although we still feel like we are chasing our tails. As we supply rail block castings, we expect we will need to keep up supply for maintenance. We appreciate orders for other product to help keep the team all working. We are up-to-date with camp ovens and those who ordered prior... to the end of February have been advised they are ready for pick up or have been sent out via Australia Post. Billmans Foundry expect they will continue to work through this difficult time, however, this will be depending on any Government direction or advice. We wish all our customers to keep safe and although unlikely we hope the COVID-19 pandemic threat passes quickly. We also wish that any customers coming to our factory, to please advise before doing so by calling the office on 03 5472 4302. Stay positive and safe everyone. See more

A shorter rest time than usual, but it's been more than an unusual year. For those who didn't get their orders before now we do apologise, unfortunately the major failure of our Cast Iron Furnace mid November has caused delays that could not be avoided.
