On Friday morning, Boris (Surin Beach), Roy (A...ir Defence) and Maurice (Palentino 2 yo) enjoyed a 20 minute session in the water walker. Third in that event over the 1000m on the hillside track the gelding impressed with a big run home from the rear of the field. Presents in good order for his first-up assignment having trialled well at home. Jumps from an awkward barrier but looks a suitable race to kick off his 3YO campaign & will take natural improvement from the run. 16. SPICY (1) D Moor 56kg Second-up the filly has come through her first up run in good order & is looking to improve back on turf & on top of the ground here. Plenty of merit in her resuming run where she was posted wide throughout, loomed-up & was just swamped late. Fitter for that effort today & looking for further improvement. LIMPET (10) D Moor 58kg Resuming here the talented gelding has had further time to mature, goes well fresh & presents in good order for his first up assignment. Placed in his only go over this distance last campaign, he has jumped out well & looking to see a solid return. R7 (3.55pm) BM70 Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap 1200m 12. PALACE WHISPER (11) D M Lane 56kg Resuming here the filly has good fresh form & has placed at this distance & two wins over 1300m last campaign. She presents in good order & has jumped out well. Has to overcome an awkward barrier but looks a suitable race for her return & watch for a solid effort today. R8 (4.30pm) BM78 MRC Membership Handicap 1400m 18. WAR CRITIC (NZ) (6) D M Lane 57kg Resumes here, the gelding has good form fresh, with a win & a place from two campaigns. Likely at his best over further but draws well here & looks a suitable race to kick off his spring campaign. Looking to see a promising return to the races here. Looking to improve, & fitter for his fresh run, he should relish the step up to 1400m, drawn well, looking for a cleaner run & see him hit the line strong. R3 (1.30pm) 3Y MDN-SW Allied Security Super Vobis Three-Years-Old Maiden 1200m 10. PARIS SHIRAZ (8) D Thornton 56kg Third-up here the filly was good on resuming, running on strongly against the pattern. A forgive run last time out where she was posted wide throughout, can bounce back, fitter two runs in, drawn well & tongue tie goes on. Watch for another honest effort today. Ran well on resuming despite finding the 1400m too short, a winner over this distance range second-up. Fitter for his first-up run he can make natural improvement, has the addition of a tongue tie, drawn well & looking for him to hit the line & finish closer here. RUDIMENTAL (FR) (5) D M Lane 61kg Freshened after his last run in Morphettville where he found the heavy going to tough, gets back on better ground here & presents in peak fitness, four runs in. Crackerjack Prince commences his career in a 1400m Maiden with Declan Bates riding for the Archie Alexander stable - its... hard to put a measure on his chances, but his pedigree suggests hitting the line strongly would be a good result. Sirius Deal has been very consistent this preparation and despite a bad barrier once again should give a good account of himself. Collectable gets conditions to suit back on top of the ground and from a good barrier looks a nice each way chance at $11. Good luck to all connections!
