16.01.2022 As per our notice ,we are now taking donations at our Bindaree lodge site from Wednesday to Saturday each week. Clothing alone can be placed in the 2 blue bins... or in the designated trolley in the main Friends of Bindaree entrance. Each of the trolleys is labelled with the type of donation. We request that when donating, donations be put into the appropriately named trolley . If donating large items (eg furniture) That will not fit in the trolley please ring 0436922679 and we can arrange to meet you at the sheds to deposit the items in the correct shed. We no longer have a pick up service. These processes help with the quarantine of items and also saves double and triple handling of items . Please do not leave the following items . Water bottles. If left,Friends of Bindaree has to pay to dump these items, thereby taking away monies raised for the benefit of Residents of Bindaree Lodge. Thank you

09.01.2022 RIP Jack Byron It is with much sadness and heavy heart that I have to report that our good mate and fellow volunteer Jack Byron passed away yesterday as a recent resident of Bindaree Lodge at the age of 95 years. I feel honored to have known Jack enjoyed his company whether it be volunteering at Friends of Bindaree Garage sales, attending the #BoyneTannumMensShed, sharing a drink and chat at the #BoyneTannumRSL or volunteering at Meals on Wheels. Jack continued to support ou...r local organisations as a volunteer right up to his recent fall and hospitalisation despite his 95 years, he will be sadly missed by so many who's hearts he touched. On behalf of those organisations and myself personally, I would like to take this opportunity to offer our heart felt condolences to Jack's surviving family members and know that we are here if you need any assistance. See more

07.01.2022 Still waiting for the Covid situation to change before we can think about getting back to business and accepting donations In the meantime several of our volunteers have been keeping busy tidying up and tending to the landscaping of the area, none more than Joy who has her green thumbs on mowing, watering and gardening. I feel sure everyone will notice the improvements.

04.01.2022 Big thanks to the public for continuing to support the Bindaree Garage Sales. This helps to provide the extras for our residents in the care centre The volunteers working at Friends of Bindaree enjoy doing this for the home but to do this we need more enthusiastic volunteers to continue providing this service. If you would like to volunteer contact Friends of Bindaree phone on 0436922679 or drop into the shed for a friendly chat.

02.01.2022 Good evening In consultation with Sundale Bindaree the Friends of Bindaree garage sale this Saturday (14 March)will go ahead . Visitors to the garage sale sheds are requested to take normal health precautions while onsite.

01.01.2022 A little bit preoccupied yesterday and missed wishing our good mate Jack Byron a very happy 95th birthday. Jack has spent the last couple of weeks in hospital b...ut has now been transferred into Bindaree Lodge where I am most sure the staff will be looking after him. Get well soon Jack and looking forward to your continued visits to the Mens Shed and RSL See more

01.01.2022 Farewell to our old mate and great friend Jack Byron, and condolences to his family. Tomorrow Monday 11th May a private funeral service will be held for our good mate. Unfortunately do to current restrictions it will not possible for members of the public to attend the service but please join me in pausing for a moments silence tomorrow morning and thinking about all the good times we have shared with Jack. On behalf of Friends of Bindaree, Boyne Tannum Mens Shed & Boyne Tannum RSL, I have offered our support to The Byron family and once current restrictions are lifted we would like to provide a memorial function for members of the public to come together and pay their respects.
