17.01.2022 The sheer numbers of people who care about the future of the Commercial Hotel and the land it sits upon, have now reached an "engagement" number in access of 2500 and is still growing. Plus, total viewers across Gwydir Shire and the fringe areas of Moree and Inverell, are now well in excess of 10,000 people. With the huge number of comments, it will take us a few days to analyse and publish our findings. But, judging by the numbers, it seems a "cooling-off" period regarding t...he old hotel is needed for everyone to sit back, collect their thoughts, put aside any digging in, and later open up the subject for a constructive discussion on all the options, including the idea of a park. The park idea could well be the best option, despite opposition. If a pause can be achieved, Warrialda will emerge even stronger community to face the future. Rod Editor See more

The common thread for many of those who are opposed, is that the building could be used for other purposes., Therefore, as a totally independent online "local" publication for the Warialda, Moree, Bingara & Inverell districts, as Editor, I would love to run an article of what these other uses are, and would have been raised, if a public meeting had been called.
