24.01.2022 The opening weekend of the 'Shadows' play was well received. Guests travelled from Inverell, Warialda, Barraba, Manilla, Narrabri, Tamworth, Guyra, Armidale and also included visiting campers from the Gwydir River. The show also runs this Saturday night and concludes with a matinee on Sunday. Numbers are restricted so get in early to avoid missing out. 24.01.2022 Tim and Melinda Clarke established the Squirt n Dirt motor bike park in 2018 and have had great success in the first years of operation. Established on what is traditionally farming and grazing country Squirt n Dirt has proven that a motorbike park in the country is a viable business option. A short drive from Warialda, Squirt n Dirt advise they have motorbike tracks to cater for every riders need and ability level as well as camping, amenities, BBQ facilities and farm house rental. 22.01.2022 BINGARA PONY CLUB CAMP & FUNDING FOR SHOWGROUND GRANDSTAND UPGRADE It was wonderful to drop in and catch some of the action at the Bingara Pony Club this w...eek. 25 local youngsters are having a blast learning from instructors and vying for places at next week’s jamboree in Moree. While at the showground, I was able to give the club and Gwydir Shire Council the good news that a grant of more than $85,000 has been secured from the State Government to upgrade the main grandstand, which is heavily used for all events at the ground, throughout the year. Contact info will be stored for 28 days (and then destroyed). You will be given a wristband once signed in. People without wristbands will be asked to go to the sign in area to get one. Of course we will have to follow social distancing rules (1.5m from anyone you don’t live with)... and please remember to stay home if you’re not feeling too good or have cold or flu symptoms. 02.01.2022 ‘Shadows’ cast a Sleeping Beauty moment at the Roxy! After a long winter’s sleep, the North West Theatre Company is set to awaken the beautiful Roxy with another very moving live theatre production. The play is ‘Shadows’ by Josephine Carter and it has a cast of seven. You can enjoy the play with friends and family and then stay on for a meal to be provided by the Bingara Lions’ Club members. Over eight months ago The Roxy was alive with the poignant and lovely voices of ‘L...ouisiana Ladies’. NWTC’s Secretary Tanya Heaton stated, ‘The combination of a play and meal for Louisiana Ladies once more proved to be a winning formula for the NWTC, and this is why we will be working with the Lions again’. Tanya added, ‘It will be a great chance for friends and family members to come together, get out of the house and reconnect with one another’. ‘Shadows’ cast member Lee Louden said, ‘It has been so great to start rehearsing again. With Covid19 and its implications we have all missed out on things that we love to do. More than ever this play allows us, as actors, to give joy to our audiences, and it allows them to escape just for a little while’. ‘Shadows’ will be performed over two weekends. Saturday evening performances are on November 14 and 21 at 7:15pm. Sunday shows are matinees at 12:15pm on November 15 and 22. The price for Show and the Three Course Meal is just $40. Because of Covid19 restrictions audiences are asked to ‘Bring Your Own’ drinks and glasses. Our audiences are restricted to sixty patrons per show and Covid19 martials will ensure that social distancing rules are kept. Select your dinner seating after checking in and take your theatre seat for a prompt ‘curtain up’ on the half hour.
