15.01.2022 Eight brave winged warriors embarked on a mission this weekend, challenged by Covid, threatened by rain, even the tyranny of distance couldn't stop these few. ...The Mt Barker track provided an equal playing field, the only competitors who had any experience at the venue were Wayne Bingham in a sedan and Peter Newman in a sprintcar some 25 plus years ago. Keith Woods set an early pace recording a new one lap record in the first heat and continued to push his supermod towards a podium finish, unfortunately he succumbed to a mechanical failure in the feature. Wayne Bingham rose to Woodsy challenge and attacked his one lap record; he shaved a bit off it and steered the Holden powered #23 to second place in the feature. David Guy, in the always immaculate #36 was in fine form consistently challenging all and finishing the feature in 3rd place. Peter Newman showed early pace after a big crash in Esperance and a full week in the workshop rebuilding the #27X but was unable to start in the feature. The Jury Boys entered the event to test their latest enhancement to their supermods. Jake Jury recruited Cam Shepard to pilot the #60 and help iron out some engine and suspension issues and Luke Jury running in a new 305 chev powerplant. These brothers have a whole lot of info to continue forging forward with. Deven Edwards bought the #9 out of its normal resting place......the shed and circulated for the first time in quite a few months. The cooler environment of the south seemed to suit the chev powered #9 as the cooling system wasn't overwhelmed with the thermo fan failing to operate most of the meeting. Stealing the show was new comer to supermod racing Sean Leary, showing he will be a front runner in this division as he and his team overcome every challenge on the day and stormed away to 1st place in the feature. Thanks to all the competitors and the Mt Barker Speedway Club for the opportunity to compete. Special thanks to Bingys Dyno Tune and Race Engines for their support of our division. Thanks to Kathy Woods our official photographer. Special mention, " The Boss, Peter Newman" thank you for co ordinating this event PC, every time I tell you " you can't ", this is what you do. Summary for an awesome week end in Mt Barker, credit to Deven Edwards for the great write up

11.01.2022 1974 XB Fairmont Coupe Bit of trivia on how the Ford mint green colour was born... back in the day when Allen’s Cool Mints came in a little round tub, Allen’s ordered 2 coupes in the custom Cool Mint green colour. One of these coupes was recently restored in South Oz and appeared in Street Machine.
