23.01.2022 Here is an eastern brown snake i discovered yesterday. Whilst doing a bird survey i heard a sliding noise in the leaf litter. Looked down and discovered this fella a foot from my toe. Went straight past without concern. Snakes 1. Dont want to eat you; and 2. Wont bother you if you dont bother them. I have had the pleasure of being very close to eastern brown, inland taipan, red bellied black, mulga, highland copperhead and tiger snakes this year and have not had a problem with any of them. A quick google will tell you these are some pretty venomous snakes. Just be aware of your surroundings and give them the space they need to move on.

09.01.2022 Great forum this year. The general consensus is caution about relying solely on electronic monitoring devices in ecological monitoring. These techniques should be used to supplement existing survey methods. Good to see these limitations acknowledged.
