24.01.2022 Supporting the community.. This footage was taken for the Save Eagleby Wetlands community group and 7 news in protest of the proposed Coomera Connector, the people you see holding hands represents the width of destruction this highway will cause. Eagleby Wetlands supports a wide array of flora and fauna including a native endangered daisy, migratory birds from China and a large range of amphibians. The proposed path of the Coomera Connector would run along the edge of the wetlands disrupting flight paths and mating calls for these animals while also disturbing the acid sulfate soils which surround the whole area.

24.01.2022 Labour of love.. My Aunties front yard needed a revamp, with the slope being so steep it was dangerous for her to walk out and maintain the overgrown and mounded gardens, I decided to go for a hunt on Gumtree and found matching style retaining blocks and went to work... The plants I chose are low-no maintenance, native and super hardy, while still bringing in the colour and pollinating insects with beautiful flowers.

23.01.2022 Chicken Coops are easy to build and ideally will have multiple uses.. The run on this coop uses "rio" (reinforcing mesh) as a wall enabling crops to be grown while still allowing easy picking and cooling an area usually heated by the hot afternoon summer sun. It also has a compost pile mounded on the back of the coop which allows for better temperature regulation while giving the chickens free access to insects. This coop and run was made almost entirely out of free recycled materials with three sheets of "rio" and screws being the only items purchased.

22.01.2022 I know we haven't been online for a while, that is because we have been hard at work on the first of many large property designs.. These are the before photos of the 5 acre property we are upgrading for a beautiful family in Conondale. Keep an eye on this space!! More amazing updates really soon..

22.01.2022 All the materials dropped are a resource and will stay onsite.. The large branches that were pruned will be used to build a growing structure for the Dragonfruit, the large off cuts and some of the Dragonfruit will be buried in syntropic style garden beds and the rest will be chipped and used for mulch.

20.01.2022 After a couple of days on the rake and shovel (and some wonderful rain) the Conondale site is looking amazing! Once the grass seed has grown and we build a couple of shelters this home schooling co-op space will be ready for all those young growing minds...

19.01.2022 The Dragonfruit wasn't the only thing we cleaned up, this Iron bark had branches rubbing together, was hanging dangerously over the neighbours fence and was growing unbalanced. With some strategic pruning this tree will live a long, safe and healthy life.

19.01.2022 Getting down to the last bits.. All of this timber will be used throughout the property for syntropic beds, terraces, seats, features and we left some standing to create a totum pole.

18.01.2022 Such an amazing day filled with such knowledgeable people! The young farmers of SEQ are really paving the way in regenerative agriculture. I would like to thank: Alanna Sapwell award winning chef, previous head chef of ARC Dining, Leanne Harper founder of Home Soil Solutions, Frances Michaels CEO of Green Harvest Organic Gardening Supplies,... Worms Downunder for some of the best worm juice I have seen, And of course Christine, Ben & Jess from The Falls Farm for providing a beautiful space and showing us around. See more

14.01.2022 There is a wrong way and right way to grow Dragonfruit... Planting at the bottom of a large tree is the incorrect way and will not only cause problems down the track but you lose the ability to pick the fruit. Building a 2m "T" like structure is the correct way and will have you enjoying the fruits and beautiful night blooms of this wonderful plant in no time.

14.01.2022 A little Tree Popper demonstration video.. Pulling Groundsel out of hard clay is made easy with the right tool.

14.01.2022 By stopping the use of chemicals and having a diverse range of flora and habitats, you too can have a beautiful range of insects like this.

13.01.2022 Clearing dangerous branches and opening up of the canopy will allow more food to be grown while providing a great resource in mulch and logs for syntropic style garden beds, terracing, edging, insect hotels and habitat boxes. Everything taken down will be reused on site.

10.01.2022 For the 100 likes you get my popper dance.. Thank you everyone for the support.

09.01.2022 A bit more Tree Popping action.. Chemical free is always the way to go :-)

09.01.2022 The first stage of implementing the design on this property was clearing forestry pines allowing the natives to thrive while giving us valued resources. All trees felled will be cut up and/or mulched and used to improve the sandy soils.

08.01.2022 A few photos taken yesterday of my native Hibiscus opening for the full moon. The white petal is Hibiscus heterophyllus and the pink petal is Hibiscus splendens. You have to love natives.. See if you can spot the Lacewing eggs!

07.01.2022 The first exciting days on site with the machine. We managed to: Build the first stage of the rock wall, Finish the nursery area and tank pads, Dig, pipe and fill the passive grey water system, move a heap of soil and get a good start on the access road and home schooling areas. The family are super happy with the progress.

04.01.2022 These are progress photos from a compost toilet we built in Conondale. One of the things not in the photo is the passive exhaust system, which is the pipe I painted black to connect to the back of the bin, this exhaust pipe was placed up the back pole through the roof and into the sun, this black pipe causes an upward draft of air that exhausts the bin. (which I have actually found isn't super necessary if the toilet is running efficiently)

04.01.2022 Ben's careful use of the chainsaw allows this beautiful Iron bark to breath again.

04.01.2022 On the rope in a different way.. While Ben cuts, two of us pull a rope connected to the top of the log to guide it into place..

04.01.2022 Property design update... These are the last days on site with the machine and what days they were.. We completed all the major tasks needing the machine, now onto the shovel and rake.. We finished the rock wall for the fire pit area, the multilevel home schooling/workshop space, the camping pad (with beautiful mountain views), dug the syntropic beds and swale and finished the loop road for full property access. This family has been such a pleasure to work for, with smiles all round, amazingly healthy food and getting to teach while on the job, I have definitely found my soul and belly being nourished with awesomeness!

03.01.2022 This an amazing Goliath Stick Insect.. Goliath stick insects love to munch on the leaves of Acacia (Wattle), Eucalyptus, Callistemon (Bottle Brush) and will even eat the leaves of Guava plants. They mainly feed at night and usually spend their day hiding amongst the trees from enemies, obviously this one felt safe at my place.
