22.01.2022 Yesterday was international dog day so we thought we introduce our Biota family member Nala Nala has had a long journey being born in NSW, moving between foster families until one of our friends in the Sunshine Coast rescued her wanting to find a forever home for Nala. We knew all she needed was LOVE and a HOME and we had both so we flew to Queensland to meet Nala. Shes been with us ever since. Nala suffered severe separation anxiety for a very long time. We tried many things to help her, including holistic vet, diet, routines etc and it wasnt until we started using essential oils, that we finally were able to comfort her emotionally and physically. We are forever grateful to have Nalas smiles and cuddles in our daily life

16.01.2022 I think this was made for us yes we use our oils all the time, for everything. For a long time we did not openly share that and it was quite daunting when we opened our Biota hub adding the words ESSENTIAL OILS to our windows. Now everyone knew. Why were we not talking about it? Because of judgement and instant dismissal from those who are comfortable being surrounded by poisonous chemicals as they use them daily in their home, with their family, often unaware or out of hab...it thinking that organic or natural is more expensive, due to lack of education as well as different priorities people have. Last Saturday I knew I had to take time for myself, connecting with nature, breathe, stop and reflect on the last few days, maybe weeks. We have so much going on in our lives, so many things to attend to. Sometimes this can feel very overwhelming, especially when uncertainty creeps in. Im learning to take every day as it comes, start every day new and reflect at the end of day with gratitude. Natures reflections are purely magical. 08.01.2022 DIY Essential Oil Insect Repellent without any nasties Spring has sprung and with warm but also wet days the mozzies are truly out and about. Time to make up our mozzie and fly spray that contains zero toxins. Have you ever read the label on your Insect Repellent you put on your skin or spraying around you? I use a few different oil blends throughout summer. Best oils to keep bugs away are... Citronella (natural repellent and great cleansing oil) Tea Tree (use with caution if you have pets) Arborvitae (great in the garden as an repellent too and I use it as sun protection in my skin care) Lemongrass ( flies hate Lemongrass! and it’s a great energy cleanser too Lemon Eucalyptus (native to north Australia, uplifting aroma and high in cleansing citronellal and citronellol, ideal for surface and skin cleansing, a good boundary setting oil too) Litsea (highly cleansing and rejuvenating, very popular in its topical use) Peppermint (ants, spiders, fleas and flies can’t stand it ) Cedarwood (very effective insect repellant, also great when working in the garden to add to mulch or top soil keeping bugs away) You can make your own DIY spray or diffuser the oils in your outdoor area (instead of mozzie coils!) Choose the oils you are more drawn to or based on the many usages they have. Yes they are super versatile In the blend I use 8-10 drops of each oil, a dash of FCO to combine them and top up with water. you can also use witch hazel instead of FCO. Happy Bug Free Summer
