25.01.2022 ANOTHER GIRL. So far 9 girls 6 boys. This is Chloe, our latest arrival. Born at 6.30am on a cold morning yesterday. Was looking good but mum wouldn't let her feed, so again, out came the bottle. Watched closely and each time she tried to feed, mum kicked her off. I had a horrible feeling that this little one was going to be a bottle bub, but finally mum came through late this morning. Now she's feeding like a little trooper so I'm guessing mum was a bit sore. What a relief. Well done mum.

23.01.2022 We have a limited number of beautiful wethers available. All are halter trained and are up to date with vaccinations and vitamins. Healthy, well handled boys. Will only be sold in pairs. Only 6 available so get in quick. PM for details.

21.01.2022 Our final cria for the season arrived today. A dark brown boy landed without problems and he's the colour of his mum's spot. Welcome to Birch Grove little Merlin.

20.01.2022 Some of our girls are settling in nicely at their new home with Jacinta and family. It's always sad to see some of the favourites go but when they go to such a loving home, it makes it a little bit easier.

13.01.2022 A new little man was born early this morning...trouble free...so I'm very happy with that. Yes a boy but given his colours, I don't mind. We've still had more girls than boys this year and seeing we've had so many girls born the last 3 year I'm pleased to see a nice little boy who might have spunky babies of his own one day...hence his name "Sultan of Spunk"

09.01.2022 Shearing done and dusted, amongst at least 28mm of rain. 80 alpacas done, all undercover and dry and now back undercover with lots of hay because of the cold. Thanks to all of our fantastic helpers, including Heather and Steve Graham, Terry and Elena Stiles who was our alpaca hairdresser extraordinaire plus lots of helpers from Melbourne. It was a great weekend, with lots of laughs, kicks, frustrations and torn shirts. Very glad its over for another year.

09.01.2022 Almost every day, a video comes across my Facebook feed of an adorable baby alpaca in someone's house or going for a walk in a neighborhood. These cute videos a...re going viral, and are starting a dangerous trend of everyone wanting to cuddle an alpaca or getting one as a "pet". Let me share my story with you. We had our first cria, Popcorn, born on our farm 5 years ago. I was determined to be his "person," and I succeeded. Popcorn imprinted on me and we were inseparable. Fast forward to a few years later, Popcorn started exhibiting dangerous behaviors, such as jumping up and ramming into me. After consulting our vet, we learned that Popcorn was showing signs of Beserk Male Syndrome. This happens when camelids (alpacas, llamas, camels) imprint on humans and considers them a fellow alpaca to dominate. This is also known as Aberrant Behavior Syndrome as it can also happen with Females! Popcorn has almost broken my ribs several times and has injured other family members and friends. No amount of training or discipline will ever truly "fix" him. PLEASE, THINK TWICE BEFORE SHARING THESE VIDEOS. I know they are cute and make your heart happy, but it is NOT normal or healthy to have alpacas as house pets or cuddle buddies. It is just starting a dangerous trend that will result in aggressive behaviors in these animals. They are also causing people to go out and purchase an alpaca as a "house pet", which would create a very depressed and even sick animal, as they are herd animals and should not be alone! PLEASE SHARE TO SPREAD THE WORD!

07.01.2022 Two entire boys available Canchones Equus and Canchones Carouso (ET) Equus is a grey brown Harlequin Appaloosa. IAR 104367 Carouso is solid black full Peruvian. IAR 178678... Both boys are extremely polite and easy to handle. Have been paddocked together without any problems and are gentle with their girls. Would be great if they could go together but happy to separate. 03.01.2022 So obviously I'm not very good at taking video's but I wanted to show you all how excited we are here. We've worked hard to get grass. A few months ago we were barren..just dirt..so we drill sowed and fertilised and then we got loads of cape weed...so its been an ongoing saga of weed spraying and fertilising...and now look what we have...hopefully enough to see us through Spring and Summer. I think everyone is pretty happy...the don't stop running now
