23.01.2022 On behalf of the Birchip RSL Sub-Branch I would like to thank everyone who attended the commemoration of our 100 years today. Thank you to the representatives from ANZAC House, the committee, players and members of both Birchip-Watchem and St Arnaud Football, Netball and Hockey clubs for your guard of honour, the St Arnaud Brass Band for leading the march, the Birchip CWA for catering and the Birchip Leisure Centre for hosting our lunch. To all the veterans from both towns who marched with us a huge thank you to all of you. To those that marched with us in recognition of loved ones past and present and to the descendants of past committee members a huge thank you for making the trip back to Birchip. Without you all it would not have been such a wonderful way to commemorate our 100 years.

07.01.2022 Hello All With everything that is happening in the world at the moment and the restrictions that are in place in regards to social gathering ANZAC Day this year will be run differently than usual. The RSL Sub-Branch Committee will hold a private service at the Cenotaph at our normal time of 11.00am in accordance to the guidelines set out by the RSL as such we ask the general public to NOT attend at this time. At the conclusion of the service we will be doing a procession of emergency services vehicles around the streets of Birchip which will start at approximately 11.15 as such we are asking everyone to come to the end of their driveways at this time, we will be playing the Last Post and other music through a loud speaker so when you hear it please come and pay your respects.

03.01.2022 If you are not at the end of your driveway at 5.50am to pay your respects I apologise in advance if we wake you up Lest We Forget

03.01.2022 Due to the current stage3 restriction the Birchip RSL will be unable to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the ending of the Second World War on Saturday 15th August with a public gathering. The executive committee will have a flag raising and laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph at 9.30am as this is the time that the end of the war was announced over the wire. On behalf of the Birchip RSL Sub-Branch I ask you all to please stand for a minutes silence when you hear the fire siren sound. Lest We Forget
