17.01.2022 The Coronavirus pandemic is having an immediate and significant impact on Australia. Not-for-profits (including charities) have a key role to play to assist those in the community that will be the hardest hit. The Australian Government announced yesterday its second economic stimulus package to help keep businesses afloat and workers employed. Some NFPs may benefit from parts of the stimulus package. The Boosting Cash Flow for Employers measure will provide cash payments o...f a minimum of $20,000 (up to $100,000) to eligible NFP employers who have an aggregated annual turnover under $50 million. Here at Birchstone Tax Law, we want to do our bit to assist those who are assisting others at this time of great need. If you are thinking of establishing a new charity in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, we can provide pro-bono assistance to help you determine the most appropriate structure and to get the charity off the ground.
