25.01.2022 Here’s a shoulder press variation I really like: The Single Arm Standing Landmine Press Great for people who have limited shoulder mobility & struggle to press directly overhead.... The pressing angle and hand position makes it more friendly for people with shoulder niggles It allows your shoulder blade to move naturally during the press, which is great for shoulder health Pressing one side at a time greatly challenges your core muscles to resist the load as you press Give it a try and let me know how you go! Thanks to SFR (silver fox rob) for the demo See more

18.01.2022 To build healthy habits, anticipate and remove as many obstacles to the desired habit as possible. Have you ever told yourself you’d get things ready in the morning, only to hit snooze, miss breakfast and run out the door, totally unprepared for the day? ... I have. And after doing it more times than I will admit, I made a rule for myself that any healthy habits that I wanted to build consistently (i.e healthy breakfast & a shake for a snack) MUST be prepped the night before. It doesn’t take much time to pour out some berries or brew a coffee but in the chaos of an unprepared morning, seemingly simple things like these get missed. That often leads to habits later in the day that don’t align with our goals. E.g buying less-than-healthy snacks or having huge lunches. Try setting aside some time before the night gets too late to prep for the following morning (food ready, clothes out) and your healthy habits have a great chance of sticking What healthy habit are you trying to build right now? 09.01.2022 A huge Happy 3rd Birthday to our little Tropical Cyclone Fionn! It’s a much quieter family party than the one initially planned but he’s doing just fine under lockdown conditions. ... What a sparkly little man you are. We love you! See more

09.01.2022 My life’s work, gone in a second.

05.01.2022 The vast majority of exercise routines seen in the gym contain movements that only involve moving forwards, backwards, and staying stationary. Sports & life often require us to move in directions other than this so it’s a good idea to include some sideways movements (as pictured here with Lib’s lateral lunges) as well as rotational movements (think cable chops and lifts, medicine ball throws and tosses etc) in our training. Plus it’s fun to move in 3D! ... Let me know if you have any questions See more

04.01.2022 Perfect is the enemy of good - Voltaire (kind of) Is reaching for perfection, optimality or ‘the best thing’ stopping you from even starting? ... Are you waiting for the conditions and your environment to be ‘just right’ before you commit to that thing you’ve been thinking about for months, years even? When the kids start school I’ll start focusing on myself When I make (x amount of dollars) I’ll invest in that product, service etc When I’m fit enough I’ll join that gym!!! The problem with waiting for the ‘right time’ to come is that you’ll be waiting...forever! It doesn’t exist. Time is our most precious commodity. Once it’s gone, that’s it. There’s no retrieving the time that’s just past you right now. And waiting for conditions to be ‘just right’ is kicking your wants, needs, aspirations & desires further down the road, forever, into some vague, imaginary future, and never into your own hands right now! The best time to start was yesterday. The second best time to start is NOW! So ask yourself - what’s a simple thing I can do today, NOW, to bring me just a little bit closer to where I want to be? Can you go to bed 15 minutes earlier tonight? Can you make double dinner and portion food for tomorrow’s workday? Can you download a meditation app and take 10 minutes out for yourself? Because tiny decisions, done often enough, build habits. And tiny habits compound over time. Good enough is good enough. What’s one tiny thing you’ll do today to edge that needle closer to the person you want to become? Comment below See more
