25.01.2022 These are the other shots I got today out at Avalon. Was pretty quiet out there today. But seeing the wedgies on the way home certainly made up for it!
25.01.2022 Well I had an amazing 2 hours out today. There was so much around. It was the day of the juveniles. Very happy with most of these shots
23.01.2022 Went out for an hour after work today. Wasnt a great deal around. Did find a pair of wedgies though. They kinda didnt go in the direction I wanted them to, but some ok shots. You can clearly see the difference in size between the male and female wedgie, (female being much bigger. ) All taken Lara, Avalon area
21.01.2022 Had a couple of brown falcons pose for me today, great lighting at the time. The wedgies are from a long way a way, heavily cropped. There is construction going on out there and I couldnt get as close as I normally would have. Taken around Avalon Airport.
20.01.2022 I went out today to see what was around. Not much most of the day to be honest, a couple of Brown Falcons and a Black shouldered Kite, so as I was leaving these 2 beautiful eagles came into sight, I had to pull over and take a couple of shots of them, pretty sure they are the same pair from the other day, except today they were just there!

20.01.2022 Good evening everyone! I managed to get these shots of this beautiful female wedgie on my way home from trying to find wedgies out and around Avalon airport today. These were taken on Heales Rd in Lara. The flight photos are in sequence, so happy with them. And got a couple of her sitting on the fence before she took off.
19.01.2022 I had a pretty good day out today, saw plenty of birds around, just couldnt get close enough to most of them. The black falcon is pretty dark, and the lighting wasnt too crash hot, but these are the shots from todays outing. Taken around anakie, and avalon, vic.

19.01.2022 Had another great day out today, highlight was on the way home, when I saw a pair of very accommodating Little Eagles. Got some great shots of them. But was plenty out today, saw so many birds of prey. Lots of shots today, enjoy taken around Avalon, Lara, area.
19.01.2022 Only the 3rd time Ive seen a Peregrine Falcon out at Avalon. Finally got some shots in flight! I swear this falcon was wanting me to fall over! He kept going round and round in circles, and as some of you may know, this is the fastest bird in thw world! I was getting very dizzzzzzzzy! Surprised any of these shots turned out. Saw a nankeen kestrel and a wedgie as well, they didnt really want to pose for me today.
18.01.2022 Some shots I got last Sunday. Not too much around, and was a pretty miserable day for most of the time I was out. Managed to get a few shots with the nice blue sky before it turned grey and rained!!

17.01.2022 Little spin around Avalon after work paid off. Saw the elusive Brown Goshawk juvenile, and got a shot of it today, saw it 3 times yesterday, but it wouldnt hang around long enough to get a shot. So was very happy when it sat for at least 10 seconds today! Other 2 shots are of a whistling kite.
16.01.2022 Saw my little eagle friend today! It was raining when I took these shots, hence them being a little grainy. And then saw a pair of wedgies in the distance. All taken near Lara, Vic.
16.01.2022 Hey everyone, there has been a story done by ladbible, and it has seemed to have created a bit of interest on this facebook page. So I wanted to post this photo again, the original. 15.01.2022 This is becoming a little amusing for me. I have only ever seen a Collared Sparrow Hawk 3 times. And on all these occasions they have been within a 1 minute walk of my house! This, Im pretty sure is the same Collared Sparrow Hawk I got shots of a month or 2 ago while I was walking the dog!! But today, the lighting was beautiful for the most part. Gorgeous looking bird, love the colours.
12.01.2022 Went out today intentionally to take photos for the first time in a couple of months..... not much around! Of course. But at least I got some birds of prey. Black shouldered kite, black kite, and nankeen kestrel.
11.01.2022 Wasnt going to go out today, cause the weather lady said it was going to rain all day. But it was a beautiful day! The little hobby was such a model for me today. Gorgeous colours. Also saw juvenile and adult brown goshawk, (pitty I couldnt get very close to them), black kite, black shouldered kite, and brown falcon.
11.01.2022 So it seems everytime I am not looking for a certain bird of prey, one comes along that Ive wanted to get shots of for a long time! This is a Brown Goshawk I saw today out at Avalon, Vic. It sat on that gate for 8 seconds, I got about 20 shots and it was off! These are the best of them.
10.01.2022 Sometimes youre just plain lucky, and thats the only explanation Ive got for the 1 hour I was able to take photos today. Black falcon, Australian Hobby, spotted harrier, wegde tailed eagles and little eagle. I couldnt believe it, everywhere I looked there was birds of prey! Yay.
09.01.2022 I saw a little eagle today, and he saw me too! beautiful looking bird, these were taken in 2 different spots, same bird though. Around Lara, Victoria.
07.01.2022 New experience for me today! I was photographing a spotted harrier juvenile, when a little eagle come and landed next to it, if that wasnt exciting enough, then a black shouldered kite came along to tell both of them to get lost! This all happened within 30 seconds, then it was all over!
06.01.2022 I re edited these the other day, they are from a day out at Full Flight Birds of Prey, in Minners Rest, Vic. I even got to fly and feel the weight of a Wedge tailed eagle! Was an amazing day. These were taken jan 2019.
06.01.2022 I have been trying to get shots of this "mature" pair of wedgies for quite a few months now. As they are a little older and wiser. Everytime I pull up in my car, take one step, or look at them from 200 metres away, they take off in the other direction. Yesterday the same thing happened, twice, 3rd time I saw them, they landed in a tree. So I started walking towards them, and they just looked at me. Finally one flew off and flew right in front of me, and I got my couple of in flight shots! It was like they were saying, ok, just take your photo and leave us alone! As soon as I took these shots, I jumped in the car and left... very happy! Taken around Avalon airport. Victoria.
