Lemon Myrtle is native to Australia and has been used for cooking & medicinal purposed for thousands of years by Aboriginal & Torres Straight peoples. Not only does it taste amazing in my smoothie it has some pretty cool benefits, it can support healthy digestion, aid in weight loss and fluid retention! ... 19.01.2022 This is where it all started for me... just over two years ago we were all so sick all the time, I had two babes under four years, Post Natal Depression, an injured husband who couldn't work... and not a hell of a lot of money. 18.01.2022 This photo of my bestie & I was taken in New Delhi, India during their famous Hindu festival, Holi. Everyone takes to the streets to celebrate with coloured powder being thrown... it's crazy fun! To this day it is one of my best days ever, the joy, freedom, fun & laughter...but the connection to strangers was just beautiful. The year before I was in Kathmandu, Nepal for Holi and it was a very different experience, there was no joy, laughter or connection. Because I was... too worried about making a fool of myself & the fear of the unknown to participate so I sat in my hotel & watched from a window. Bergamot goes in my diffuser daily, it’s the oil of self acceptance, it’s supporting me in believing that I am enough. It’s also a divine oil for optimism, cheer & light heartedness. ... Sandalwood is a staple in my meditation practice, I also love it in my DIY deodorant with geranium. It’s a gorgeous oil for skin as it’s soothing & beautifying. Rose is the oil of love, it has the highest vibration of all the oils... so if you’re looking to raise your vibration to achieve goals & manifestation she’s the oil for you. 10.01.2022 Let’s face it we all seem to be rushing, doing & moving from one thing to the next before we even have time to breath! Our culture seems to reward ‘busy’ and ‘achieving’. It’s no wonder that stress and anxiety is the number one issue that people turn to essential oils for, closely follow by immunity and painwhich is generally brought on by stress among other things. When I started to prioritise self-care in my day, I felt a HUGE shift, just 5 mins a day can have a ripple ef...fect on your mental health. I was exhausted & felt like I had zero time, but I made a commitment to myself to find a little peace in my everyday. I started by being very intentional about how I cleansed my face, applied my moisturiser, put the diffuser blend on every morning, leaned into what I wanted to feel that day and mediated at night when I fell into bed My oils were the catalyst for this, it’s like they were speaking to me, like my Apple watch, telling me to slow down & breath, listen to my intuition, to give my body what it needs to thrive. The more I did, the more time I found I had, the more calm and balanced I began to feel and the more energy and clarity to do all the things I love. The other shift I’ve started to see is that the kids are happier, they have less meltdowns and they communicate with me better. It’s like the old saying, put your life jacket on before you help others. Now I mediate for about an hour a day, journal, practice yoga, walk, take as many moments in my day as I can. I'm far from perfect, but that's ok. My whole mindset around looking after me has gone from, I have no time & everyone else is more important than me to, I need this for myself, my family needs me to do this. No-one else will say ‘go meditate, go have a cup of tea in the garden’ I have to just do it. The point is just start somewhere, no matter how big all small, it doesn't need to be hours & big $$ at the day spa! 10.01.2022 Today I listened to my body & took some rest... after a kinesiology session yesterday my homework was to meditate & ask my womb what she needed from me to heal from the trauma of my ectopic pregnancy last year. REST, REST, REST came in loud & clear... I tend to keep going & going... I usually thrive that way but lately I am exhausted. ... So my theme for the next little while to to just rest daily. It’s ok to rest, it allows ease & grace to flow into my life... I watched the Downton Abbey movie in bed, had a snooze & tonight we’ll order in pizza for dinner. 03.01.2022 Saturday DIY - Wood & Cane Furniture Polish I have a lot of vintage wooden & cane furniture in my home... up until now I just used a bit of olive oil to clean & polish them, but it leaves a bit of a residue... and Mr Sheen is so toxic, so he's out! I remember my Nana spraying that stuff everywhere - if only she knew! Toxins are all around us and a lot are out of our control, but you can control what goes on in your home. In a 500ml Spray Bottle - get the good nozzle, I got this one form @centaurpackaging Fill half with a light olive oil, then add 20 drops of essential oils, I have chosen Wild Orange & Arborvitae (gives it a woody aroma) Then swill around to combine the oils, then top with white vinegar. You will need to shake it all up really well as the vinegar & olive oil don't like to mix. Then spray onto your cane or timber furniture and use a soft cloth to polish them up nicely. This has cost a couple of dollars, and you have a safe non-toxic cleaner! 02.01.2022 Last night a wave of nausea came over me like nothing I’ve experienced in a long long time! You know the type that takes you out?! Well I was NOT having that! I pulled out DigestZen... added two drops to some water & downed it. It didn’t happen straight away, but after about an hour I finally felt my tummy ease & fell asleep! ... Who knows why I was feeling so sick, it could’ve been all the pizza & wine I consumed but all I know is this blend is a god send!
