We are working on an exciting new initiative to give everyone access to the www.birdsvilleracesroadies.com and so we’ve pushed back our release date. There will be some exciting new announcements for 2020 so stay tuned.

24.01.2022 Enjoying another outback sunset, there is a silver lining in the cancellation of the 2020 Birdsville Races. It has meant thousands of dads have been able to spend Father’s Day with their families which might not otherwise have been the case. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. We appreciate that Birdsville is a trip punters need to plan for so we’re aiming for a May release of tickets. After 2020’s cancellation we had hoped to go on sale much earlier, but things continue to change with Covid so we are proceeding with caution. 12.01.2022 OFFICIAL STATEMENT COVID-19 - 25 May 2020 It is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision not to stage the Birdsville Races this year. As much as we were holding onto the hope that we could run them, we’re at a point where we’ve had to concede defeat. The health of our patrons, and those who live in Outback Queensland, is of paramount importance to us - and it is impossible to know what the status with Covid-19 will be come September.... We thank all our event partners, including Tourism & Events Queensland and Racing Queensland, for their support as we held onto the reins hoping we’d ride this crisis out and stage a spectacular comeback this year. Unfortunately that is no longer an option. We hope that you spare a thought for us on the first Saturday in September and make plans to join us again in 2021. The on-sale date of tickets to the 2021 Birdsville Races will be announced in the coming months with race entry and trackside hospitality options also available for pre-purchase. 02.01.2022 STATEMENT 2020 BIRDSVILLE RACES AND COVID-19 The Birdsville Race Club is following, and will continue to monitor, all COVID-19 developments. ... We remain hopeful that the event will proceed on September 4 & 5, 2020, however we will of course take advice from Government and Queensland Health authorities over the coming months. The only change to plans for the Races at this stage is that the tickets on-sale that was scheduled for April 2 will be delayed. Maintaining the safety and health of patrons who are passionate supporters of the event, and that of the Birdsville community and outback townships on the routes in to Birdsville, will remain the number one priority of the event organisers. Further announcements regarding the on-sale of tickets and staging of the 2020 Birdsville Races will be made in due course.
