23.01.2022 A grass fire? With a Watch and Act Message? In May? You weren’t seeing things today, and it was far from a drill, with over 80 CFS volunteers attending a grass ...fire at Gould Creek. The fire was reported at 12:10 and was caused by sparks from an angle grinder, burning through 8 hectares of hilly and inaccessible terrain, before they were able to halt it at 2:45 this afternoon. Even though it’s cold and we’re about to hit winter, we haven’t had much rain across the state and fires can still very quickly catch and get a run on. Please take care with any cutting or grinding equipment and also check the conditions before conducting any burns- our volunteers will be on hand if you need.

23.01.2022 The Fire Danger Season for Adelaide Metro, Kangaroo Island and Mount Lofty Ranges will start on Tuesday, December 1.

21.01.2022 Very High fire danger weather has been forecast across South Australia tomorrow, and we need you all to be vigilant and modify your behaviour over the next 24 h...ours. Parts of the state are extremely dry and while we might not have overly hot weather, the dry fuels and wind will be enough to see a fire quickly catch and take off. We have seen quite a few small fires already today, following last week’s Watch and Act level fire at Gould Creek. If you have done any burn offs or had any comfort fires on your property over the past few days, please take some time to ensure they are properly extinguished and cold to touch. If you’re going to be using any sparking machinery such as angle grinders, make sure you have plenty of extinguishing agents on hand. If you’re planning to conduct a burn off, please assess your local situation and hold off until the weather calms down. Rain forecast for Tuesday should see the fire danger risk subside.
