10.01.2022 Why are roses so expensive? Have you ever asked that question? From a Florist point of view, they are a lot of hard work. Did you know....... roses require special conditioning, so the flowers remain in top condition and are easy to handle when you receive your bouquet . Each stem needs all the thorns removed, OUCH!!! Then most of the foliage removed, and stem ends cut on an angle. Then the heads should be wired, and the guard petals removed. (See the difference?). After a...ll this careful handling they need a good drink in conditioned water. Only after this can the assembly and design process begin. Roses are a favourite for many. I hope this brings a new appreciation for the Florist, and the labour intensive work that goes into creating your beautiful rose floral design.
