This classic watch has an automatic winding system referred to as a "bumper" due to two shock absorbing springs the automatic weight knocks into at either end of its arc, and yes, you can feel it on your wrist. 10.01.2022 Y'all knew that the jewels in modern watches glow under certain "UV" light? Vintage watches used natural ruby jewels, but modern ones are synthetic corundum and they will glow with a "black light" - disco style. Handy to know if you lose a jewel in the workshop....

05.01.2022 The MeisterSinger Paleograph is a great watch to work on. It's also quite comfy to wear, but that's not what I'm interested in. If you're a fan of the brand, you'd know that MeisterSinger make a very legible watch using only a minute hand. Ja, one hand?!? This one has a nicely reworked Eta 6497 movement inside that's been transformed from a standard time-only base calibre (with three hands), into a... Single button, column wheel, two register, four handed, 30 minute chronogr...aph watch. Yeah !!! All that jazz, and only one extra hand? Still no hour hand, for the purists. May not sound like much but, believe me, there's been some tricky alterations made in the upgrade. I'll have to get a blog started to fill you in properly, it's far too big for this post. Basically, it's been another fun day at work today. Oh yeah, I forgot to take a shot of the front. Google it. (This one was in midnight blue)
