21.01.2022 Holy smokes, what a month!!! While we have some down time this long weekend, we just wanted to take a moment to say a HUGE thank you! Firstly, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of our dedicated, hardworking and incredibly tolerant staff members. We appreciate all the overtime, all the weekends and how youve all handled the craziness of the last month and a bit. ... Secondly, to all of our customers - each and everyone one of you are AMAZING! It has been such a pleasure working with you to feed peoples plant addictions and to get our plants to their forever homes. Thank you for your continued support, your friendly faces, and your understanding during this time. What we thought was going to hurt our business has done the opposite. There was some misunderstanding at our nursery which lead to a few plants being sold by mistake. ... We have the highest pride in our stock and at this point in time we dont feel these plants are ready to leave us yet. Once they are big enough, they will be available for sale. We require someone who is: ... - enthusiastic - reliable - self motivated - physically fit - able to work in the elements - able to work well on their own or in a team C class drivers license and own transport is required. Hours are Monday to Thursday 7am - 3:30pm and Friday 7am - 1pm with possible overtime and Saturday work in late Spring/Summer. The Hours advertised for this position are a minimum requirement. 15.01.2022 BUSH FIRE THREAT We appreciate everyone’s concern. At this point in time, the nursery is okay, but not safe. The winds seem to be taking the fire away from us, however spot fires and embers are still threatening the property. ... No staff were working today, and Terry, and my family have evacuated the property. Unfortunately, our animals remain there as we were unable to get in to collect them. We have all our fingers and toes crossed that the nursery and our homes are safe and spared from damage. I will post an update tomorrow, or once it is safe for us to return home and the threat is gone. Samantha

During this busy time we do ask a couple of things to help us help you; ... If possible, wed appreciate the use of our handy push trolleys to collect your stock. If you have too much for the trolleys, thats fine! One of our staff will collect your stock for you. Please collect a stock list from our office upon arrival, while youre signing in. This will help you and us when writing up your stock. Please be patient. This is an incredibly busy time for us. We are trying our hardest to serve everyone promptly and without delay. For the health and safety of staff and visitors we ask that you respect social distancing guidelines by keeping a 1.5m distance, using the hand sanitizer available in our office or soap and water available in the bathroom. 09.01.2022 BUSH FIRE UPDATE Firstly I want to say that we are overwhelmed with the communities concern for us and the business. We appreciate every comment and message. Thank you so much. At this point in time the nursery and houses are safe. The winds have taken the fire west of the nursery. All the roads surrounding are still closed, however Terry was able to be escorted in by a neighbour. My family and myself are still unable to return home. ... Good news is the nursery and the animals all appear to be fine. We have no power, so watering stock is an issue, but I’m hopeful it is restored soon. We are hoping the roads are open by the end of the day, but we know that emergency services will do what they feel is best for the residents safety and well-being. 06.01.2022 UPDATES!! Its safe to say that Perth really got into plants during COVID and cleaned us out!!! We are extremely low on stock at the moment and ask for your patience while we (impatiently) wait for things to grow and catch up! CUSTOMER GUIDELINES ... We will be putting into place new customer guidelines for the new financial year. Existing customers will be emailed a copy this week to be read, signed and returned before your next visit. New customers will receive the guidelines upon signing up and must read and sign before trading commences. We will be allowing a 3 week grace period to get used to the new guidelines. New customer guidelines will be in full effect from 1st AUGUST 2020. We thank you all for your continued support and patience! Sam & Katelyn

02.01.2022 Good evening! We felt it was our time to make a Birnam post about COVID-19 and what that means for Birnam Nursery. At this point in time, it is business as usual for us and will continue to be unless someone tests positive for Coronavirus in our workplace or it is the decision of the government and relevant organizations to cease business for an isolation period. ... What we do ask of our customers is; if you have been unwell, you have a fever, cough or sore throat then PLEASE STAY AWAY until you are back to full health. The health of our staff and customers is priority so we ask that everyone follow the recommendations set out currently and refrain from venturing out if they are unwell. As our workplace is minimal contact and outdoors, we are taking appropriate measures to avoid illness within the business. If it does come to the point where we need to shut our doors, we will let everyone know as soon as we do. We hope everyone stays healthy and well during this uncertain time.
