25.01.2022 SANTA RUN HEADS UP! Good morning all! This year, more than ever, Santa felt the children living in the areas around Birnam Rural Fire Brigade deserve some Christmas cheer.... So... Santa has asked the Birnam RFB Christmas elves to help him deliver sweets on the afternoon of Sunday 20th December, between the hours of 2pm and about 5pm. We will be visiting the children in the streets all around Tremayne Rd, Collins Creek Rd and William Humphreys Dr. Listen out for our sirens and you'll hear Santa calling 'Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!' Looking forward to seeing you all then!

16.01.2022 Smoke hazard heads up! Birnam RFB are conducting a stack burn this afternoon/evening on the corner of Beaudesert Nerang Rd at Tabragalba (see image below). These are large stacks and will produce a fair amount of smoke. If need be, please ensure you close all windows and doors if living in the area. ... If driving through this area, please take note of the smoke hazard signs and drive to conditions. Many thanks, and stay safe!

16.01.2022 Predictions from the BOM for Wednesday and into the weekend are temps in the high 20's with low humidity and strong winds gusting to 45km/hr. This marks the start of our challenging fire weather days. This will see most areas move into a Very High Fire Danger for the few days. Even with recent rains the main concern will be grass fires spreading quickly with the forecasted winds. Please ring 000 immediately if you see any fires that are unnattended. This is not the time to conduct any Hazard Reduction Burns, even a small pile of garden waste or rubbish.

15.01.2022 BIRNAM - Hazard Reduction Burn The brigade will be assisting a landowner on Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd, to conduct a hazard reduction burn today (Saturday 12th Sept). Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.

09.01.2022 Heads up Birnam residents! Birnam Rural Fire Brigade are conducting a large scale hazard reduction burn at 3310 Beaudesert Beenleigh Road on Saturday 18 September, 2021. The location of this burn is alongside the overtaking lanes between Beaudesert Nerang Rd and Flagstone Creek Rd. Crews are expecting to have fire on the ground by midday, and will continue to monitor the burn all afternoon. ... It is expected the burn will produce an amount of smoke. If driving in this area, please SLOW DOWN and watch out for our crews. If you are experiencing difficultly breathing, please close all windows and keep medications handy. We appreciate your understanding and patience. Hazard reduction burning is an important part of our preparations for the upcoming fire season.
