24.01.2022 Birregurra Golf Club pennant results from round one proudly brought to you by ABS beef Australia: Handicap Blue team: Lost to Apollo Bay 3/2 but congratulations to team members Eddie Ozgood and Stuart Driscoll on their first pennant wins. Scratch team division five: Win against Ocean Grove 4/3, with the highlights being our local doctor K playing his first game and recruit Will Hume winning to help get the team over the line. Next week we venture to Geelong Golf Club to play Winchelsea at 8am Sunday, while the Handicap team plays at Apollo Bay.

23.01.2022 The Birregurra golf club would like to announce that our annual club championships will be beginning this Saturday October 20 2018. This year we have decided to alter the format a little bit to allow for a better inclusion rate. This year the 54 hole format will remain over a 3 week period however the competition results will be decided by each players best 2 18 hole stroke rounds to allow for players who are unable to make all 3 rounds without impacting those that can make all 3. The competition brackets will include an open scratch event as well as an A and B grade handicap brackets as well. We look forward to seeing a great turnout over the next 3 weeks

22.01.2022 Twilight golf is back THIS FRIDAY night.... hit off is at 5.30pm, entry just $10 for 9 holes which includes pizza afterwards. ALL community members are welcome to come and have a game. Its a three person Ambrose which is a great social format. We hope to see you at RBGC Friday night.

22.01.2022 Entries are now open for the annual Birregurra golf club rose bowl event. Open to all ladies the event is scheduled for the 9th of April and entries close on the 4th of April.

22.01.2022 Good Friday Charity Golf Day update: At this stage the club plans to proceed with our Ambrose event on April 10th. Obviously we will monitor health advice but with the event being mainly outdoors, less than 500 people and an opportunity to raise funds for such a worthy cause, we plan to host the day. 21.01.2022 The Birregurra golf club would like to remind everyone that we have our annual tournament coming up on the weekend of November 22-25. Thursday will be ladies day, 4BBB stableford event with prizes for winners, runner ups and nearest to pins on par 3s. Entry fee of $30 per pair 9.30am for 10am shotgun start. Friday will be mens 4BBB stableford with perpetual and individual trophies. $30 entry fee 11.30am for 12pm shotgun start. ... Saturday will be the mens 18 hole stroke event. Multiple winners available from categories including; scratch winner, scratch winner handicaps 17+, handicap winners from handicaps 0-16 & 17+, and handicap winners for each of front 9 and back 9. The J.S. Henderson golf cup will also be awarded for this event with 4 person teams at $2 entry per team, multiple teams can be entered for another $2 per team. $25 entry fee includes lunch and afternoon tea. Hit off from 11am check the website (www.birregurragolfclub.com.au) on November 21 for start times. Sunday we have the mens and ladies 3 person ambrose event. 3 person teams mens and ladies only with no mixed teams. $60 per team includes afternoon tea. 10.30am for 11am shotgun start. Charles Stewart & Co is kindly sponsoring the event so come out if you’re keen for a hit we’d love to see you there. It’s an Ambrose format, which is good fun, and you have a partner to help you out if you’re not at the top of your game. Tee off is 5.30pm on Friday 7 February, its a nine hole event and open to anyone. Get there early to register, and make sure you stay to enjoy some pizza after the golf. And another reminder, we have a Birregurra vs Winchelsea challenge on Sunday 9th February, it’s individual stableford, hit off at 9am, open to all members with a handicap. 15.01.2022 Apologies for the delay but after a big weekend of golf here are our results. Saturdays regular competition this week was an Ambrose event taken out by V. Parker & R. Hinds with a 73-11.5-61.5, followed by S. Preston, H. Smith and R. Clissold with 71-8.5-62.5. Nearest to pins went to D. Read on 6/15, I. Henderson on 2/11, R. Tupene on 8 and J. Hoiles on 17. Congratulations all. ... On Sunday we had the annual Winchelsea challenge this year played at Winchelsea. After holding the trophy for the last 3 years we travelled out looking to make it 4 and scores of 44 points from J. Kilday, 41 from E. Osgood and 40 from V. Parker gave us a chance however Winchelsea also had top scores of 44, 42, and 40 points making it look like it could be a very tight result. After the top 10 scores from each team were added together the close result was confirmed with Winchelsea taking the win by a single point 377 to 376. Congratulations to the Winchelsea guys and thanks for hosting a good event and we look forward to taking the trophy back next year at birregurra.
