22.01.2022 Card #37 - Jesse Steenholdt After a short hiatus from the BFNC Jesse Goon Steenholdt has returned! He comes back to us as a CDFL Reserves Premiership 1st Emergency. Its no secret that Steeny has spent a lot of his time away from football in the beef lab. We cant see many of our boys wanting to do one-on-one training against him. When a man of this much character walks back through your doors how can you not get excited!? 2020 is going to be fun. Welcome back Axe!

22.01.2022 Card #38 - Michael Davis The King Mick Davis has put pen to paper for 2020! Mick is a BFNC club legend for a multitude of reasons. He is a senior best and fairest winner and a three-time premiership player. But we love him for reasons outside of that. Mick is a humble leader of our men in the way he conducts himself off the field - a devoted family man, a dedicated clubman and nothing but a pleasure to be around! As a bonus, Micks football is just beautiful to watch. Clean, smart, strong and skillful. This man is class!

21.01.2022 Card #30 - Ben Boseley HE IS BACK! Returning in 2020, in a playing capacity, is Ben Boseley! With open arms we welcome Ben, Annie and their extended family back to the Birregurra FNC. Ben left us at the end of 2017 as a two-time CDFL premiership coach. Since then Ben has had time away from football to start a beautiful family with his wife Annie and to focus on other fitness commitments. Ben will add great depth to any part of the ground that he is thrust into. Additionally, Ben will provide as an exceptional mentor to his peers, all junior players of the club and all other club members by personifying all that is great about Birregurra. The respect that Ben shows in all aspects of his life is reciprocated towards him by the people of Birregurra. Welcome back, Bose!

21.01.2022 Card #36 - Daniel Simpson Daniel Simpson will add some black to his regular red and white Waratah Warriors guernsey next winter as he joins the Saints 2020 campaign. Simmo is currently carving up NTFL Premier League footy with his explosive pace, strength in the contest and sublime use by foot. He also has an NTFL Div 1 flag to his name. Daniel is a Darwin boy who will be living in Victoria next year. His personal connections have drawn him to Birregurra. Simmos laid-back and friendly nature will be welcomed with open arms when he lands down south next year!

20.01.2022 Card #35 - Daniel Hovey Our third senior football recruit for the 2020 season is Daniel Hovey! Hoves is a known goal kicker and is more than comfortable flying in the forward 50. He has a league medal to his name in as recent as 2017. In the same year he was named captain and centre half forward of the Div 3 Western Region Football League Team of the Year. Daniel will complement what is already a potent scoring lineup for us. Welcome aboard Daniel! Youll look great in red, white and black!

14.01.2022 Card #39 - Brandon Kelly Was it the pipes or the last name that gave it away? We have another Kelly joining our ranks! 25 year old Brandon Kelly will be donning a Saints jumper in 2020 with his cousins Andrew and Christian. Brandon is a Newtown & Chilwell junior product that switched to Bellarine club Portarlington where he featured regularly in their senior midfield. Much like his cousin Andrew, Brandon loves it hard and tough in the guts. Hes only 1200 goals away from a Christian comparison. ;) Brandon is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his father and become a Birregurra premiership player. Welcome aboard Brandon!

12.01.2022 Card #28 - Mitch Russell Its confirmed, hes coming back! Mitch is a promising young talent that provides us with plenty of dash from the half-back-line. Rustys laid back nature and sense of humour makes him very popular among his peers. Mitch proved his worth at the right time of the year, in 2019, by showing us what he can do on Central Reserve. With the way our list is shaping up, were confident well be seeing more of Mitchs craft on a big deck next year.

11.01.2022 Card #24 - Glen Darroch Glen will spend the 2020 season as he did the 2019 season: At the helm our next fine crop! Darra led our U18 men to a top 3 finish in his first year in the role. We know that each of the U18 boys loved having Darra as their mentor. This reappointment did not need much consideration! If Mick Davis is the King of Birregurra, then Glen Darroch is the heir to his throne. Glen operates with class and integrity! We have been very fortunate to have had the Darroch family arrive in recent years. Their contribution to our great club has been, and continues to be, immense!

10.01.2022 Card #29 - Andrew Kelly One of the most decorated country football resumes is not finalised yet! Andrew Kelly will haunt opposition midfielders for at least one more year. Drewy joined us as a GFL premiership captain and soon followed suit in the CDFL. Our boys walk taller when Drew is by their side. He is an incredible teammate, leader and competitor. But Drews true value to our club comes in ways that are not visible on the field. Those internal of Birregurra know exactly what we are talking about! We love having Andrew, Kirst and the kids around. Bring on many more years of it!

08.01.2022 Well, wasnt last night a successful one! We had multiple individual award winners from Birregurra and even took home the Club Champion award Congratulations to... Ash Biemans - C Grade Runner Up BnF Kirsty Roberts - B Grade BnF... Tom Parker - Reserves BnF Justin Bennett - Team of the Year Paul Ridout - Team of the Year The spread of votes in our A Grade netball and Senior football was outstanding! Thus, highlighting the vast array of contributors over the 2019 season

07.01.2022 Card #34 - BJ OToole After seeing BJ thread 45 majors in 16 Reserves outings in 2019 we would have been mad not to sign him up for 2020. Billy has some of the best goal sense we have ever seen in a Saints jumper. He rarely misses in front of the big sticks and proves to be a tough match-up for opposition due to his size and strength. BJ gives our senior list great depth as he edges closer to regular senior appearances. Its players like BJ that kept us afloat in 2019. Lets see the damage Billy can do after a big pre-season!

07.01.2022 Card #31 - Josh Weatherhead Another Birregurra premiership star is returning to the Saints in 2020! Josh Weatherhead has committed to playing his next season of footy in the red, black and white. Wez is a two-time senior premiership player of the BFNC with a best on ground medal to his name. He is as strong as they come and is an animal in the contest. The classy leadership that Wez will provide through commitment, attitude and endeavour is just one of the many reasons we are excited to have him back. We know that Joshs company is of great value, so our boys will be pumped to hear this news!!

04.01.2022 Card #25 - Matt Slater Back to Back... ;) Doesnt that alone justify us re-signing this legend?... Matt has selflessly invested himself in our junior football program for the past two seasons. Not having children playing at Birregurra didnt stop Slats from volunteering to lead our young brigade. He values enjoyment and participation for his players. Matts training sessions are never shy of hard work, fun and banter! The future of Birregurra Football is in good hands!
